Bottom 5

5 - Jellyfish Jam: The plot in this one is incredibly basic. It brings no substance to the table, and with that, very little comedy. I didn't like the jellyfish in the episode, mainly because they're just being jerks and have no motivations for their actions.

4 - Nature Pants: I actually like the plot in this one, but the main problem is the execution. I found the episode to be incredibly boring, and there wasn't that many jokes to make it any better. I also don't like the ending. It comes out of nowhere with no proper transition.

3 - Sandy's Rocket: I don't like the plot OR the characters in this one. The entire thing feels incredibly forced, mainly because Patrick is the main advance in the plot. He's the one who comes out of nowhere just to get SpongeBob into more trouble without any of the comedic pizzazz that he usually has. And the ending is just one of those confusing, inconclusive moments that doesn't make any sense or has any sense of satisfaction.

2 - Ripped Pants: This episode was just anti-humor. You know how the beach-folk felt when they saw SpongeBob's little "fake-death" publicity stunt? That's how I felt throughout the entire episode. It's so tedious, boring, frustrating, and predictable all at the same time. I really don't like any of the characters in this episode, especially SpongeBob. He seems so out of character here that it's actually off-putting. While I do like the song, it's just a cheap way to conclude the episode, and it doesn't feel satisfying in the slightest. And the moral of the episode doesn't help it either. There's nothing wrong with the moral that the episode was trying to tell, but the fact that there are so many more episodes in the show that do it better than this one makes it feel even more lazy.

1 - Fools in April: I actually have a lot of the same criticisms with this one as I do with Ripped Pants. The only difference here is that the plot randomly jumps from one thing to another without any transition, and the ending is really stupid as well. The fact that the entire thing was just a prank makes the entire second half of the episode pointless. I put this one slightly lower than Ripped Pants because at least that episode had a nice song. This one just has nothing.
