The Tough Tavern is a bar that appears in the episodes "Plankton's Army" and "SpongeBob Meets the Strangler," and also in the console versions of the video game Creature from the Krusty Krab. It also appears as a property in the game Monopoly SpongeBob SquarePants Edition.
As the name states, the Tough Tavern is a tavern only for tough people.

Exterior[]
It is a circular metallic blue building. It has a black roof with a green wooden sign held together by bamboo sticks; the sign reads the place's name, with the "Tough" part read in red text, and the "Tavern" part read in black text. There are many motorcycles parked outside.
Interior[]
The inside resembles a bar and is known to contain a pool game.

Role in series[]
"Plankton's Army"[]
Plankton goes to the Tough Tavern to attempt to make the patrons join him to steal the Krabby Patty secret formula. He fails and gets seriously injured by the tough fish inside.
"SpongeBob Meets the Strangler"[]
SpongeBob goes here to see if the people at the tavern can be his bodyguard to protect him from the Tattletale Strangler. However, everyone at the tavern is also afraid of the Strangler and they run out of the place in fear.
Role in video games[]
Creature from the Krusty Krab[]
It appears in the sixth level, "Revenge of the Giant Plankton Monster," where it is one of the many buildings Plankton has to destroy.
Trivia[]
- It is similar to the Salty Spitoon, as both are bars that involve tough fish as members.
- Coincidentally, both locations debut in season 3.
