The SpongeBob Complete Season DVD Sets

  • For years I've been buying the single-disc DVDs, which have 7-10 episodes each (for example=Pest Of The West, Tide & Seek, etc.). Latley, however, I've been purchasing the Season DVD Sets! They are, w/out a doubt, worth every dollar spent! @ only $14.99 per Season, I can't go wrong. & the picture & Dolby Digital 2.0 Stero EX Surround is amazing on my 5.1 system! In the last 6 weeks, I bought Season 7, & then Season 8. This week, I'll be ordering The 1st 100 Episodes DVD BoxSet (@ only $39.99) & Season 6! From what I understand, that will complete my collection. I'll have every episode from Seasons 1 through 8. I'll keep the single DVDs (& of course the Movie), but I wish that I had done it this way a long time ago.

    • you may help by providing watch links for all shorts available on those DVDs.

    • Yeah, I buy the seasons. Currently I have SpongeBob SquarePants: The Complete 1st-8th seasons on DVD. Once Season 9 finishes I'll buy it.

    • O_O we have a true spongebob fan here!!!

        Loading editor
    • Oh wow! That's cool!

        Loading editor
    • Thanks! I also have the movie too. I'm thinking about watching the series, in order, starting from the pilot episode, which suprisingly isn't on the season 1 DVD. It's a special feature on the season 3 DVD.

    • I stopped buying the individual sets once I got the 100 episodes set, but I haven't gotten any season sets since because I simply hate the episodes from season 6 on.

I do agree that the quality has decreased, but I don't hate it. I think that season 9 is actually getting pretty good, but we can only hope that it stays this way.

    • yeah.

        Loading editor
    • Yeah, I agree that the season 9 episodes have improved a bit but I still probably won't get the season set unless the episodes become like season 2 quality.

        Loading editor
    • Yeah. But the worst season 9 episode is Yellow Little Book due to squidward's rude behaivor.

I completely agree. Extreme Sports, Patrick-Man, and Gary's New Toy were also pretty lame but there were good ones like Squirrel Record and Safe Deposit Krabs.

        Loading editor
    • Yeah. Gary's New Toy was weird with that red ball coming out of the tv. 0_o

      I liked Patrick-Man.

    • I thought it was pretty bad.

    • The worst episode of season 7 are all the legend of the bikini bottom ones they are completely stupid.

        Loading editor
    • I hated all of them except for the Bikini Bottom Triangle, that one wasn't too bad. I absolutely hated Hide and Then What Happens?

        Loading editor
    • Me Too I like Bikini Bottom Triangle too but i hate hide then what happens too it was pointless. Also that friend test episode was pointless too.

        Loading editor
    • Yes.

    • Earworm was annoying, but at least the song was catchy.

    • I finally decided that I would watch every episode in order (including the movie,) using my DVD sets. So far I've watched Help Wanted, Reef Blower, Tea at the Treedome, and Bubblestand. Now I'm ready for Ripped Pants.

    • That's what I used to do whenever I got a set.

I've had my season 1-8 set for a long time, but I never got around too it. Every time I tried I didn't make it past season 1, but I'm going to try and make it through all eight seasons. It's not that I don't like SpongeBob, because I love it, it's just that watching every episode is very time consuming, and at times you can be tempted to watch an episode on TV, even though it's not the next episode in your lineup.

    • I understand.

I'm probably not going to go on a SpongeBob-watching-montage again because I've seen most of the older episodes about ten to fifteen times each and they get boring after you see them tons of times.

Same here, but since I haven't accomplished my goal yet, I'm going to keep trying for it.

    • Has anyone else noticed that if it wasn't for Rocko's Modern Life, SpongeBob wouldn't be what it is today. I'll match each Rocko's Modern Life with their SpongeBob version, below. Everyone has one except Filber, and Plankton, but since they both have the same voice actor, I'll match them.

Rocko - SpongeBob - Both are mane characters.

Heffer - Patrick - Both are overwieight, and not very intelligent.

Spunky - Gary - Both are pet's which seem to be smarter than their owner.

Filbert - Plankton - Same voice actor.

The Bigheads - Squidward - Both are neighbors, which almost always have a reason to be angry.

Mr. Dupette - Mr. Krabs - Both are the main characters employer.

Really Really Big Man - Mermaidman and Barnacle Boy - Both are superheroes.

I've never watched Rocko but you're right, that is very similar.

I'm not sure why you would buy the first 100 episodes if you already have seasons 1 through 8. Also, there are two types of DVDs for the movie which are the original copy and the re-release. There isn't a very big difference except for the screen formats and cases. The original case is tougher and yellow but the re-release is kind of flimsy. I think that there is only 1 re-release but I might be wrong

    • I remember begging my parents for the first 100 episodes set back in 2010. I wonder if we'll get a second hundred episodes set soon.

      • SpongeBob-themed Monopoly and Operation
