The Real Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy Movie is a 2005 motion picture film directed by SpongeBob SquarePants which appeared in the episode, "Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy VI: The Motion Picture." The film stars Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy as themselves, as they fight Kelp Thing in Fort Lox. It was premeried in the Krusty Krab. The members of the Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy came to watch the movie, because the other movie was sold out.

Synopsis

The movie takes place at Fort Lox, home to over 5 billion Krabby Patties. Kelp Thing plans to steal all the patties, but Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy try to stop him, because it is forbidden. Kelp Thing also tells them that they won't defeat him this time and the fight begins. This movie includes Sandy Cheeks as a double stunt for Mermaid Man, and karate chops Kelp Thing away. Then, Mermaid Man says that Kelp Thing may not win the Krabby Patties, but the battle rages on. The movie ends with Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy showing up their rings and Mermaid Man saying "Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy, unite!" and they put their rings together.

The Movie

  • The movie was first produced differently. Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy were driving the Invisible Boatmobile (Pearl Krabs) and were pulled by a fish up a rocky hill. Later, Mermaid Man recited the plot of episode #912 before the movie ended. However, it was ruined because Patrick Star had the lens cap on.

Reception

The movie got negative reception from the fans, probably due to the fact that the movie is little more than it was to be a skipped flim, and there isn't enough action. Even though it's the worst movie the cast and crew had ever made, they enjoyed it very much.

Trivia

  • Kelp Thing is the main antagonist in the movie; however it is unknown if he would be the villain in the official profit theatrical Drippy Brothers. Studios' film, but it is likely he would've made an appearance.
  • It is unknown who won in the battle, because Kelp Thing is still getting the Krabby Patties, and it ends after the superheroes put their rings together.
  • The transcript of the movie is the fixed one with no skips. However, in the real episode, the movie included skips, like when they skipped Mermaid Man's "It is."
