• Oddly, Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy acted like they didn't know SpongeBob and Patrick though in previous episodes, they know the two well. Perhaps this comes before all those other episoes.
• SpongeBob read this book, without Patricks knowledge, in a "The Clash of Triton" short, "The Story of King Neptune" to be exact.
