Synopsis

Mr. Krabs is about to open the Krusty Krab, but nobody shows up. A commercial reveals everyone is at the Sea Chicken Shack, and he sends SpongeBob to find out what is making them more popular than them. He arrives at the place in a disguise. He tells Mr. Krabs that the store is a dump and it smells bad. He gets thrown out when he violates their No headbands rule. The large, outdoor Mr. Seachicken statue is why everyone is going there instead of the Krusty Krab. So, Mr. Krabs asks Squidward to make a statue of him. Mr. Krabs makes some various poses and Squidward keeps saying no until Mr. Krabs holds his arms in the air, and Squidward finds the perfect pose.

It takes Squidward almost twenty-four hours to finish making the statue. He has Mr. Krabs stand in one position with his hands up in the air for all that time, but Mr. Krabs isn't pleased when the statue is finished. The final result expresses what Squidward may actually feel about Mr. Krabs, because it has spikes and a second mouth near the stomach area. Spongebob plays on it after Mr. Krabs tells him to make sure it's safe, but it falls on him: The statue isn't safe as a playground object, and it may even result in a lawsuit. Spongebob decides to paint Mr. Krabs gold so the children can play on him instead of the statue.

• When Mr. Krabs is telling SpongeBob that he can turn the sign, SpongeBob says "You don't mean?" and Mr. Krabs replies "Oh, I mean." This line was used before, in the movie, when SpongeBob was talking to Patrick about celebrating after SpongeBob became manager (which didn't happen at first, but did in the end), Patrick says "You don't mean" and SpongeBob says "Oh, I mean" and then they both exclaim "GOOFY GOOBER'S ICE CREAM PARTY BOAT!" and sing and dance to the Goofy Goober song.
• When Squidward is finished sculpting the statue, Mr. Krabs says he wants to see what it looks like, but he should already know what it looks like considering he was watching Squidward build it the whole time. However, he might have fallen asleep before Squidward made very much of it.
• In Indonesia, after SpongeBob says "Then, like a whisper, I am gone," it just straight to the scene where Krabs says "Are there any unique or interesting amenities that might attract me customers in any way?".

Cultural references

• The soap opera Squidward was watching in the register, As The Tide Turns is a reference to the American soap opera As The World Turns , which was the longest running soap opera since it's debut in 1956 until its cancellation in 2010.
• One of the artistic poses Mr. Krabs tries out is The Thinker made by Auguste Rodin.
• The Sea Chicken Shack in this episode may be reference/parody of KFC.
• The spy pen is a reference to the pen bomb from the James Bond film Goldeneye.

Errors

• When SpongeBob opens the door to the Krusty Krab and sees that no customers are there, the Chum Bucket is missing from the scene.
• When SpongeBob starts talking to Mr. Krabs, Nat Peterson is in front of him. Then, when he starts talking about the smell, it shows Charlie in front of him instead of Nat.
• When Mr. Krabs guesses Larry, the closed captions mistake it for 'Harry'.
