"Help Wanted," the pilot episode of the series, was not included due to issues with Tiny Tim's song that was played in this episode. However, it appeared as a bonus feature on the Complete 3rd Season and 10 Happiest Moments. It was also available on The First 100 Episodes box set, SpongeBob, You're Fired! (DVD), and The Pilot, A Mini-Movie and The SquareShorts.
This is the only season to not contain any double-length episodes at all.
The Nick version of "Pizza Delivery" is shown instead of the YTV version (on YTV broadcast only, Squidward's ending line "Oh, my aching tentacles" was removed).
The DVD also contains short trailers for various Nickelodeon shows.
This DVD release was rated PG in Canada for brief and mild violence: it is the only seasonal DVD release in the country to have this rating. Seasons 2-8 onward are rated G in Canada.
