Squog is an ancestor of Squidward Tentacles. He was alive during the B.C. era (Before Comedy). He enjoyed painting like his descendant, Squidward, but unlike him, could paint prodigiously. He owns a house and two clubs, and apparently the clubs have emotions of some sort, as one cried when Squog chose the other to go yell at Prehistoric Gary with. Mostly, he slips on the slime trail of Prehistoric Gary. His neighbors are SpongeGar and Patar. Squog has appeared in "Ugh," "Atlantis SquarePantis," and the PC version of Lights, Camera, Pants! when you go to the past.
He is the oldest member of the Tentacles family and he has six tentacles like the rest of the family, but he too is an Octopus. One could infer that a mutation that goes back to Squog or even further back in time could be the reason that the family has six tentacles. However, this does not explain Mrs. Tentacles and Grandma Tentacles because they married into the family. However, it is possible that he is an ancestor of them too. It is also possible that he is a distant ancestor of Squilliam, especially since Squilliam has a unibrow that may have become a dominant trait in Squilliam's branch of the family.
Appearance
Squog mostly looks like Squidward except for the following:
- Squog more often smiles instead of frowning.
- He wears a leopard fur one-shouldered ragged tunic.
- He has one tooth like SpongeGar, but on his bottom jaw.
- He has a thick unibrow. (Similar to Squilliam, but Squilliam's is not rectangular)
- He appears in Ugh, Lights, Camera, Pants! and Atlantis SquarePantis.
- He appears as one of Squidward's self-portraits.
- He has a tiny bit of hair on the top.
- He, like Patar and SpongeGar, has a five o'clock shadow.
Trivia
YTV captions error.
- The YTV captions spell Squog's name as Squd
- He does not seem to mind SpongeGar or Patar, unlike his descendant, Squidward, hating SpongeBob and Patrick.
- Squog does not have a past relative, a Primitive Squid, for unknown reasons. (Unlike SpongeGar and SpongeBob, who have the Primitive Sponge, and Patar and Patrick, who have the Primitive Star).
