Squog looks very similar to Squidward, except he has a five-o'clock shadow, a unibrow, some black hair on his head, and one tooth. He also wears a stereotypical caveman outfit instead of a shirt.
He owns a house and two clubs and apparently, the clubs have emotions of some sort, as one cries when Squog chooses the other to go yell at Prehistoric Gary with. Mostly, he slips on the slime trail of Prehistoric Gary. His neighbors are SpongeGar and Patar.
He enjoyed painting like his descendant, Squidward, but unlike him, he is more talented. There is no record of him playing an instrument aside from primitive clarinet he had, but it can be assumed he is talented it as well since his descendants get terrible with Squidly.
He seems to be more friendly with his neighbors, unlike his descendant. This was seen as while annoyed by their antics at first, he was seen worrying for them after lightning struck them and socialized with them and having good time with them after discovering fire.
Squog makes his debut in this episode. His personality is shown to be the same as Squidward's. He discovers fire in this episode along with SpongeGar and Patar, who are also his neighbors. Squog likes hitting SpongeGar with a club and was fighting for the log that contained fire.
Squog is seen in Squidward's song painting a picture of his own head inside one of Atlantis' paintings when the head comes alive with Squidward singing. He then gets scared by the sight and runs away.
Squog appears as one of Squidward's self portraits.
He is the oldest known member of the Tentacles family and has six tentacles like the rest of the family, but he too is an octopus. One could infer that a mutation that goes back to Squog or even further back in time could be the reason that the family has six tentacles. However, this does not explain Mrs. Tentacles and Grandma Tentacles since they married into the family. However, it is possible that he is an ancestor of them too.
