In "House Fancy," it was an upright vacuum cleaner that had a silver metal base, a bamboo handle, four wheels, and a green bag. This version also included a speed adjustment switch.
In "Squid's Visit," it resembles a round metal cylinder with a black rubber hose attached to one end, a metal nozzle and two pairs of wheels.
During the episode, Squidward goes upstairs to help his wound, and he tells Spongebob to vacuum for him. SpongeBob gets the vacuum cleaner, but he gets the on switch stuck. The vacuum gets jammed on "High suck" and starts sucking up Squidward's furniture, carpets, and walls. Squidward comes downstairs, and sees that the vacuum cleaner bag is enormous. SpongeBob tries to turn it off, but gets sucked into the vacuum cleaner.
In the episode, SpongeBob "borrows" Squidward's Vacuum Cleaner to make Squidward visit his house. Squidward goes to SpongeBob's house, in search of his beloved vacuum cleaner. After a while, he finds his vacuum cleaner in the closet along with SpongeBob's furniture. He tries to yank it out, but the force causes him to fall down the stairs with his vacuum cleaner.
Squidward finds out the vacuum cleaner is his, and drags it out of SpongeBob's house, until he notices that his own house burned down because SpongeBob kept him away from his casserole. Squidward yells at SpongeBob, who tells him that it's okay, because Squidward can just stay at SpongeBob's house. This causes Squidward to go into a state of shock, and start imagining himself having tea with his vacuum cleaner, until he starts laughing hysterically.

The vacuum cleaner appears as the play button on the "How to play" menu. It also appears every time the player starts a new level, moving onto the screen next to "Level (number)." The vacuum cleaner then sucks up the letters and number/s and moves off-screen.
