Squidward's recumbent bicycle is a vehicle occasionally driven by Squidward Tentacles. It first appears in The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie.


It is a red recumbent bicycle.

Role in series

Squidward is sometimes seen driving the recumbent bicycle. In most of its appearances, he uses it to get to the Krusty Krab.

Squidward rides it to work, just before he finds out about Plankton's plan.

"Choir Boys"

Squidward uses his recumbent bicycle during the episode to get to the Bikini Bottom Men's Choir Studio when he receives an invitation to attend, marking it the biggest appearance of the recumbent bike in the series.

"Truth or Square"

Squidward rides it to work in the flashback before he met SpongeBob. It also makes a cameo during Squidward's opening theme version.

"Squidward in Clarinetland"

Squidward rides it to work at the beginning of the episode.

"It Came from Goo Lagoon"

Squidward rides it until Sandy lifts him off the bike to get faster to her treedome.

The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water

It appears in a deleted scene.

"Patrick! The Game"

Squidward rides it when Patrick shows him his new game called Rock, Paper, Butter.


  • This is one of the few objects that debuted in the first movie to become a reoccuring element in the series.
  • In "Boating Buddies," Squidward says that he sold his recumbent bicycle, but can still be seen riding it in later episodes.
  • Squidward's recumbent bicycle was an inside joke about Rodger Bumpass, who was well known amongst the SpongeBob SquarePants production team for riding a recumbent bicycle around the Burbank, California area.
