The "SpongeBob SquarePants Theme Song" is the song that is sung at the beginning of every SpongeBob SquarePantsepisode by Painty and a group of kids.
A "literal version" (describing what goes on in the video) was made as a Nickelodeon commercial. It goes as such:
Painty: My mouth looks weird!
Kids:Sure does, Captain!
Painty:I can't hear you!
Kids:We're yelling, Captain!
Painty:Down...
Painty:Here is a pineapple, where are the shells?
Kids:Here comes a man hand!
Painty:Taking a bath so he no longer smells!
Kids: Bubble title!

Derek Drymon makes a comment about the SpongeBob theme song: "Steve's idea was to try to make the most annoying song you can, to—so when Saturday morning, when kids turn the TV on and parents are trying to sleep, you have this pirate screaming in the other room for the kids to jump on the floor."
