Characters

Synopsis

Johnny Erain announces the short. The scene then zooms into SpongeBob where he is watering the flowers. He notices that Patrick left his garden hose on, walks down to Patrick's rock, turns the water off and knocks on the rock. Patrick comes out and says hello to SpongeBob. SpongeBob asks Patrick about the hose. He finds out that patrick left the hose on for purpose. SpongeBob says: "Well, giving a hose running can waste (his face turns wise and the voice changes) thousands of gallons of water per month". We then see that water starts coming out of Patrick's house. SpongeBob screams, jumps into the Patrick's house, sucks the water up and then says that they will put this captured water on use.The scene cuts to Patrick watering Mrs. Puff's flowers by using SpongeBob as a watering can. Mrs. Puff says thank you to SpongeBob and Patrick. SpongeBob says: "See Patrick, saving a little water, goes a long way", and short ends.

Trivia

  • While this episode relates to the situation of water conservation, it makes no sense in the context of the scene itself. SpongeBob is telling Patrick that he's wasting water even though they live in water.
  • Although the name of the short was written in the outro, it can't be counted as a title card because the same outro appeared in all three The Big Green Help shorts.
  • The short was made for Nickelodeon's educational project The Big Green Help.
  • The site mentioned in the outro doesn't exist anymore. It now leads to "The Big Help".
  • When SpongeBob said "thousands of gallons of water per month" he talked in his manly voice like he did when he said "Hall Monitor!" in Hall Monitor.
