Online game

SpongeBob's Crosswords is a SpongeBob SquarePants online game.

Gameplay

Enter the answers in the boxes across or down that begin with the same number as the questions. To check if a word is correct, click the "Check Word" button. When you check a word, any wrong letters will be deleted. To solve a word, click the "Solve Word" button. When you're ready to check the entire crossword puzzle, click "Options" then "Check Puzzle." When you check the puzzle, all wrong words or letters will be deleted, and you'll see your stats. If you've left some blanks, after you click "Check Puzzle," you'll be given the option to go back and fill them in. If you want the computer to solve the puzzle for you, click "Options" then "Solve Puzzle." To reset the puzzle and begin again, click "Options" then "Reset Puzzle." The less times you click "Check Word" and "Solve Word," the better your stats. A timer runs from when you begin to solve the puzzle until you click "Check Puzzle," "Solve Puzzle," or "Reset Puzzle." Try again to beat your time!

Use your mouse to click on a question or a box in the crossword puzzle. When you click on a question, the corresponding box in the puzzle will be highlighted. When you click on a box in the puzzle, the entire row of boxes that make up the word will be highlighted. If you click on a numbered box that begins both an "Across" and a "Down" word, the boxes that make up the "Across" word will automatically be highlighted. To highlight the "Down" word beginning with that number, simply click again.

Once you highlighted a row of boxes that make up a word with your mouse, just type in the letters on your keyboard. They will automatically appear in the highlighted boxes.

The timer runs from when you begin the crossword puzzle until you click "Check Puzzle," "Solve Puzzle," or "Reset Puzzle." The faster your time, the better your stats.

If you've entered a word, but you're not sure it's correct, clicking "Check Word" will cause the word to be highlighted and all incorrect letters to be deleted. If you can't figure out a word and want some help, clicking "Solve Word" will result in the correct word appearing in the boxes. You can check or solve words as many times as you wish, but the less you do, the better your stats.

When you've completed the crossword puzzle, or come as close as you can, click "Solve Puzzle" to see how you did. After you check the puzzle, you'll see a list of your stats, including your time, how many words you checked, how many words you solved, and how many words you got right. If you've left some boxes blank, you'll be given the option of going back and trying to complete the puzzle. If you're stuck, and want the computer to solve the puzzle for you, click "Solve Puzzle" to see a completed version. Once the puzzle is solved, you'll see your stats, including how many words you solved yourself and how many words the computer solved for you.

The options menu is where you'll find the buttons for "Check Puzzle," "Solve Puzzle," and "Reset Puzzle." If you want to do any of these things, first click "Options" to find their buttons. If you click on a button in the options menu, the game will ask if you want to do it or cancel it.

When you've completed the crossword puzzle, or come as close as you can, click "Check Puzzle" to see how you did. After you check the puzzle, you'll see a list of your stats, including your time, how many words you checked, how many words you solved, how many words you got right, and how words you left blank.

Trivia

  • This game is also known as "Crossword Puzzle."
  • The game's background music is a short loop of the soundtrack Heat.
  • Patrick and Squidward are seen on top of the crossword. Pointing the mouse over Patrick will make him laugh while pointing the mouse over Squidward will make him say, "Oh please."
  • Some of the words don't even have anything to do with SpongeBob. For example, 6 Down in the crossword puzzle is the word Acres and the crossword hint refers to it as the name of a 60's TV show called "Green Acres."
