A slide whistle is an instrument used by SpongeBob, Patrick, and eventually, Squidward, in the episode "Slide Whistle Stooges."

Role in episode

SpongeBob and Patrick get new slide whistle and start playing them everywhere, even outside of Squidward's house, much to the annoyance of Squidward. The two then start to use them for sound effects that everything Squidward does. He eventually has had and then flees out his house. This leads to SpongeBob and Patrick following him, thinking that he is finally playing with them, and ignoring his cries to leave him alone.

Squidward then finally has enough and forcefully grabs SpongeBob's slide whistle and uses it against him and Patrick.

Afterwards, Squidward becomes addicted to the instrument and irritates all the Bikini Bottomites with his slide whistle. Soon enough, Squidward encounters a cliff and winds up falling off it. He is then sent to the Bikini Bottom Hospital, with the slide whistle stuck in his throat. Since no one has the technology to remove it, they leave it on Squidward. SpongeBob and Patrick are then seen playing around with the slide whistle im the hospital as the episode comes to an end.
