The Shelly Superhighway is a highway that only appeared in "SpongeBob's Last Stand". In the episode, it is revealed that Plankton wanted to build this to make Mr. Krabs spill the beans of the Krabby Patty Secret Formula. The plan was to build the highway going through the Jellyfish Fields, flying over the Krusty Krab, and ending up in the Chum Bucket. Due to these plans, the jellyfish were forced to move and the Krusty Krab was threatened into bankruptcy. After the jellyfish fleed the Bikini Bottom, SpongeBob arranged a plan to stop "this madness". With the help of his friends and the citizens, SpongeBob succeeded in destroying the highway. Everything in Bikini Bottom was restored after the destruction of the highway.

- It is unknown who the Shelly Superhighway is named after.
- However, it might be Plankton using "Shelly" name to hide his identity so people will approve of the highway.
- This plan worked as even Mr. Krabs voted for the highway.
- The Shelly Superhighway seems to always end or start at the Chum Bucket.
- Aside from The Spongebob Squarepants Movie, this may be one of Planktons biggest achievements yet as Mr. Krabs gave up and decided to sell the Krabby Patty Secret Formula to him until that plan is foiled by the Jellyfish.
- Squidward is the only one of the main cast that isn't involved in the destruction of the Shelly Superhighway.
