Shady Shoals Rest Home

Shady Shoals Rest Home is a retirement home in Bikini Bottom. Its residents include, among others, Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy. According to Squidward, it's located across town from Conch Street.

Outer Appearance

Shady Shoals looks mostly like any other house in Bikini Bottom: Tall and metal with windows that look like those of a ship's. It has two rusty-colored snoke stacks on it, one one the top, and one on the lower left side. On the Upper right is a parascope. Below it is a fishing pole holding up a sign that says Shady Shoals Rest Home. There is a small, wooden deck leading up to the front door.

Inner Layout

Front Lobby

Through the front door lies the front lobby. There is a front desk with two doors behind it, one to the left, and one to the right. Here is where visitors sign in.

Main Area

Through the left door behind the front desk is the main area. There are a few checker boards, some coral plants, water fountains, a couch and an old T.V.. Here is where the residents come to go about there day. They can play checkers, get a drink of water, watch T.V., or just mingle.

Cafateria

Through a door in the back of the main area is the cafateria. Here is where residents come to get their meals. There are tables where the residents eat, and the kitchen where they get there food, The floor is a yellow-and-white checker pattern. Bingo is also held here.

Residental Area

Through the door to right of the front desk is the residental area. This is where the residents live. Each room has a couch, an old T.V., and a desk poop

Mermalair

Main article: Mermalair

The Mermalair is the secret headquarters of Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy. The secret entrance is located beneath the couch in the main area.

Destruction

Shady Shoals has been destroyed once, in the epsiode Mermaid Man vs. SpongeBob, when Plankton took over Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy's minds and go rabid.

Trivia

  • They serve meatloaf for every dinner.
  • Shady Shoals was used as the set for the "real" Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy movie.
  • In SpongeBob's Mystery With a Twistery, a similar retirement home, "Rest Home", is shown.
