Plot

The episode opens up with the closing of the Krusty Krab. SpongeBob leaves but Mr. Krabs pulls him back and tells him to take out the trash. When he goes around to the back of the Krusty Krab. He reads some of the dumpster writing and finishes one. He then reads a piece which has a foul word on the end that isn't shown up on camera. He asks Patrick what it is and Patrick says that the word is a sentence enhancer. (The word is never said, but is replaced by a dolphin call). The next day, Spongebob walks into the Krusty Krab and says the swear word to Patrick and then over the intercom. The Krusty Krab customers are appauled by the language used by SpongeBob and leave. Squidward tells Mr. Krabs the story. Mr. Krabs decides to tell them that the foul word is word number eleven of a list of thirteen bad words (when actually there are more than that). SpongeBob and Patrick decide to wipe the said word from their tongues and promise Mr. Krabs that they will never use it again.

Later, they play their favourite game, Eels and Escalators. Patrick gets escalators but SpongeBob always gets eels and eventually loses. When he does, he utters the swear word. Patrick then races SpongeBob to the Krusty Krab. Patrick hitches a ride above an Ice-Cream Truck but dosen't reach the Krusty Krab. SpongeBob bursts through the front door and tells Mr. Krabs that Patrick said the swear word but in a complicated way. Patrick then joins along but they always change the subject to something else. Eventually, Mr. Krabs stops their jibberish and they say what they he needs to tell them. Mr. Krabs takes SpongeBob and Patrick outside and returns with pots of paint.

Mr. Krabs is about to give SpongeBob and Patrick the job, but he trips on a rock, throws the paint away and says all thirteen swear words. When SpongeBob and Patrick hear all the words, they run to Mama Krabs' house and repeat the words. This makes her faint but she regains consciousness, she gives them the task of painting her house in a fresh coat of paint. She then trips on a rock and even though Mr. Krabs thinks that his own mother said a swear word, it is actually the horn of Old Man Jenkin's car. The episode ends with all the characters laughing.

Trivia/Goofs

  • An episode of Baby Loony Tunes is similar to this. after Baby Daffy hears 1 (actually 2) bad words from a garbage man who drops the trash can on his foot, he uses them when he gets angry. The others chat on like Patrick becuse until Granny hears it they don't know it's foul. It is sensored with a rubber duck sound.
  • Every "bad word" is actually just a random sound
  • The title card background features many different types of knots which are similar to those mentioned in Your Shoe's Untied
  • This is the first title card to feature vocals. The second is if you count the chanting in the title card for "Sponge Cano"
  • Another piece of graffiti reads "Star Fish Rool".
  • This is the first episode where the music in the title card has lyrics.
  • "Eels and Escalators" is a parody of the board game "Chutes and Ladders". It is commonly edited in youtube poop (edited often foul mouthed videos of [insert cartoon hear]) videos and is the least foul segment edited with only a name change (much like "The Fiery Fist O'Pain Roller Coster) examples are squidward and mr krabs and a ramdom guy singing "underpants" and "blouse" replaceing eels or escolators respectively.
  • When Squidward asks about the bad words, "Don't you mean there are only seven?" this is in reference to comedian George Carlin's infamous routine, "Seven Words You Can't Say On Television."
  • When Mr. Krabs stubbed his foot on the the rock, he stubs his right foot, yet he is clutching his left foot in pain, which should have been uninjured. This happens again with Mama Krabs when she also stubs her toe, clutching her uninjured left toe when she should have been clutching her stubbed right toe.
  • This was the first episode to air after 9/11.
  • When Mr. Krabs asks, "What kind of things?" the captions say, "What things?"
  • This is the 75th single episode.
  • This episode is similar to the Powerpuff Girls episode "Curses" which has the main characters saying some bad words after the professor says them with random sounds.
  • This episode is one of the most popular episodes on YouTube that is made fun of (such as replacing the bad words with actual curse words).
  • This episode was quoted to be Chris Pine's favorite episode.
  • The episode is also simular to the Tiny Toon Adventures episode "To Bleep Or Not To Bleep" where Fowlmouth the rooster keeps swearing throughout the episode with bleeps replacing the swear words. bleep sounds are the most common sound used to censor swears (there also sometimes)
  • During the scene when SpongeBob play Eels and Escalators with Patrick, this was originally planned that had SpongeBob saying "Go (Dolphin Chirp) Yourself" followed by Patrick saying "(Dolphin Chirp) you too!", but edited out for obvious reasons.
  • The title of this episode could be a title parody of the famous Anime superheroine Sailor Moon.

Possible sound translation

  • (dolphin chirp): F-word and variants ex. mother*&^%$#
  • (foghorn): S-word
  • (Aoogah horn): Goddamn
  • (seal bark): Damn
