"Rubber Hose Rag" is a song about SpongeBob being determined, excited, and prepared to go to his daily job at the Krusty Krab. This song is featured in the episode "Truth or Square." Patchy, a huge fan of SpongeBob, held on to this song for a very long time, therefore being recorded with an old, vintage effect.

The song always repeats itself, but it mimics SpongeBob's catchphrase: "I'm ready! I'm ready! I'm ready!"

Trivia[]

  • The song plays at 110 beats per minute.
  • Like "Krabby Patty Jingle," this song is in black and white.
    • Though unlike that song, which is based on 1950s cigarette commercials, "Rubber Hose Rag" is based on old cartoons, particularly Disney cartoons from the 1930s-40s.
  • The name of the song is a reference to rubber hose animation from the 1920s and 1930s.
  • Some of the objects shown sentient in "Rubber Hose Rag" were also shown sentient before and after this song.
  • The Krusty Krab employee hats, the Krusty Krab customers' drinks, the Krusty Krab cash register, and Squidward's shirt are the only non-painted-background individual objects in "Rubber Hose Rag" to not be shown sentient during the song (although the cash register was personified and implied to be sentient in other episodes. The Krusty Krab employee hats also have a sentient robot variant in a later special as well).
  • This song marks the most times sentient objects have been used in the series to-date, with 15 total sentient objects appearing throughout the song.
