The Pretty Patties Store was a roadside stand seen in the episode Patty Hype. The store sold 46,853 Pretty Patties to the people of Bikini Bottom. It was located at 122a Conch Street, between Spongebob's and Squidward's houses.

History

Inspiration

After 36 days with no customers, Mr. Krabs ran out of ideas to attract costumers. Tom and Fred did not want to eat at the Krusty Krab because the Shell Shack had a talking dog that sang. SpongeBob suggested that the Krusty Krab sell "Pretty Patties" which were Krabby Patties dyed in an array of colors. When Mr. Krabs rejected the idea, SpongeBob and Patrick partnered up to open a roadside stand of their own, at 122½ (or 122a) Conch Street. After seeing a news story on TV, Mr. Krabs traded the Krusty Krab for the stand.

Success

The store became a big hit because over 46,853 people were lined up at the stand. The pretty patties were king of the Bikini Bottom Food Chain. The stand was so profitable that SpongeBob and Patrick did not know what to do with the money. They first tried burying it, shredding it, and burning it, but eventually decided to give it away. This was done next to the Pretty Patties stand, and customers could wait in line as often as they liked. After seeing a news story on TV, Mr. Krabs traded the Krusty Krab for the stand.

Downfall

On the morning of the stand's second day of operation, a horde of unsatisfied customers demanded a refund due to side effects received after eating Pretty Patties. One customer's face had turned purple, another had a plaid stain under his kilt, and one fish had a glow-in-the-dark tongue. Mr. Krabs fled to the Krusty Krab, only to find the doors locked and SpongeBob too busy squeaking pickles. With no staff to oversee its operation, the stand shut down soon after.
