The pole is Patrick Star's "wife" at the end of the episode "The Krabby Kronicle."

Description[]

It is a regular light tan pole that wears a light pink wedding dress, a light blue collar and a pearl necklace. It has a sign that reads "Conch Rd." in red text. Originally, it said "Bus Stop."

Role in episode[]

It first appears as a regular pole with the sign "Bus Stop," and SpongeBob thinks that Patrick is waiting for the bus. SpongeBob takes a picture, wanting to put it in the Krabby Kronicle, but it turns out that Patrick was watching the pole and he could have sworn that it had moved.

After showing the story to Mr. Krabs, he says that it is boring and sketches a drawing of a wedding suit on the pole and a tuxedo on Patrick, saying to change the story from "Man stares at pole" to "Man marries pole" to make it more interesting which is really Mr. Krabs tricking SpongeBob into writing lies about people.

Later, at the end of the episode, Pole and Patrick arrive at the Krusty Krab and he asks for a couple of Krabby Patties for himself and his "wife” as he married the pole as a result of the lie.

Trivia[]

  • When SpongeBob takes a picture of Patrick when he looks like he is waiting for the bus, the sign on the pole reads "Bus Stop," but when Patrick arrives at the end of the episode when Mr. Krabs is printing his money, the sign reads "Conch Rd."
  • Patrick's "wife" appears to wear clothes that a regular bamboo pole would never be seen wearing, but was first shown wearing these items on the newspaper Mr. Krabs edited.
  • The street "Conch Rd." on the sign has a very similar name to Conch Street, where Patrick coincidentally resides.
