Trivia

Cultural references

  • Plankton's end quote, "Season's beatings, underlings" is a spoof of "Season's Greetings."
  • Plankton's songs are parodies of "Come All Ye Faithful," "Joy to the World," "Deck the Halls," and "The Nutcracker Suite" respectively.
  • Plankton's previous albums entitled Born to Chum and Krabby Road are parodies of Bruce Springsteen's Born to Run and The Beatles' Abbey Road respectively. "Krabby Road" was later used as a title of an episode (with its title card a parody of the back cover of "Abbey Road").
    • Doug Lawrence, who voices Plankton, is, ironically, from South Brunswick, New Jersey, which is about 15 miles from Freehold, where Bruce (The Boss) Springsteen was born.
