Plankton, who was extremely popular with his albums Born to Chum and Krabby Road, is releasing a new album of holiday hits. In a sneak preview, he sings several parodies of famous songs on a platform, eventually getting tired at the end of Deck the Halls. Then it is revealed that you can get the album if you send the Krabby Patty formula to Plankton at the Chumbucket Bikini Bottom, USA.
Plankton's end quote, "Season's beatings, underlings" is a spoof of "Season's Greetings."
Plankton's songs are parodies of Come All Ye Faithful, Joy to the World, Deck the Halls, and The Nutcracker Suite. The former song was one of the inspirations for "We're Not Gonna Take It" by Twisted Sister - another one of their songs, "I Wanna Rock" was later spoofed in the first movie as "Goofy Goober Rock."
Plankton's previous albums entitled "Born To Chum" and "[Krabby Road]" are parodies on Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run" and The Beatles' "Abbey Road." "Krabby Road" was later used as a title of an episode (with its title card a parody of the back cover of "Abbey Road").
Doug Lawrence, who voices Plankton, is, ironically, from South Brunswick, New Jersey, which is about 15 miles from Freehold, where Bruce (The Boss) Springsteen was born.
