Synopsis

The Krusty Krab hasn't had a customer in 36 days, and is shown to be filled with cobwebs and even a skeleton. Dave crawls in, claiming that he hasn't had any food or a drink in 3 days. SpongeBob immediately gives him a meal, but he refuses, saying that there's no atmosphere in the Krusty Krab, and resumes his search for food and a theme. Mr. Krabs overhears a conversation between Tom and Fred about a talking dog at the Shell Shack, and realizes that he needs a gimmick to attract customers. SpongeBob tries to give him an idea, but is cut off by Mr. Krabs, who decides to bury himself alive in front of a crowd that leaves him when news of the now singing dog reaches them.

SpongeBob, in an angelic costume after being ignored by Mr. Krabs for a while, gives him an idea: "Pretty Patties", which are Krabby Patties, painted in a variety of colors - "six designer colors". Squidward and Mr. Krabs laugh at him, and say that it's a terrible idea. They even create other ideas such as "sequined milkshakes" and "bow-tied french fries" to mock SpongeBob, which angers him. He leaves the Krusty Krab and sets up a stand in front of his house selling Pretty Patties, with Patrick, which is initially unsuccessful. He tries to give Harold a Pretty Patty, who laughs at that. SpongeBob is about to give up, when Harold sees a purple patty, his favorite color, and proclaims Pretty Patties to be the best idea ever. Following this, sales skyrocket.

Mr. Krabs sees this on the news and decides to take a look. SpongeBob is now serving the 46,853rd customer and has a large sum of money, which he and Patrick are giving away to the customers. Mr. Krabs says that he's never had that many customers in such a small amount of time, and gives SpongeBob the Krusty Krab in exchange for the "Pretty Patties" stand (as SpongeBob missed the Krusty Krab).

The next day, as Mr. Krabs is ready to make money, the customers all show to explain that the Pretty Patties had the side effect of turning them into their colors, and form an angry mob which begins chasing Mr. Krabs. He begs SpongeBob to let him into the Krusty Krab (since he gave the Krusty Krab's key to SpongeBob), but he is too distracted by the sound of the squeaky pickles by rubbing them together.
