"Livin' in the Sunlight, Lovin' in the Moonlight" is a song that was sung in "Help Wanted." It was originally written by Al Sherman (father of frequent Disney songwriters Richard and Robert Sherman) and Al Lewis for the 1930 film The Big Pond for famous French singer Maurice Chevalier. It was covered by Tiny Tim (who already had a big hit with "Tiptoe Through the Tulips") in 1968 on his first album "God Bless Tiny Tim." It was his version that is heard in "Help Wanted," written by Bailey Novan.
Full lyrics
Hello, my dear friends! Well, here I am on record at last! And it feels so wonderful to be here with you on my first album!
I'm so happy, ha-ha!
Happy-go-lucky me
I just go my way
Living ev'ry day
I don't worry
Worries don't agree
Things that bother you
Never bother me!
(chorus)
Things that bother you
never bother me!
I'm so happy as pie, ha-ha!
Livin' in the sunlight!
Lovin' in the moonlight!
Having a wonderful time!
Haven't got a lot! I don't need a lot!
Coffee's only a dime!
Livin' in the sunlight!
Lovin' in the moonlight!
Having a wonderful time!
(end chorus)
Just take it from me!
I'm as just free as any daughter!
I do what I like just when I like and how I love it!
I do what I like, and just what I like, and how I love it!
Ho Ho!
(chorus)
I'm right here to stay
When I'm old and gray
I'll be right in my prime!
Livin' in the sunlight!
Lovin' in the moonlight!
Having a wonderful time!
(end chorus)
Oh, isn't this a lovely band and how swell it is to have them play with me?
