"Krabby Road" is a SpongeBob SquarePants episode from season six. In this episode, Plankton creates a band to steal the Krabby Patty secret recipe.

The episode begins with Frank the policeman showing a new cop around the prison. He then showed him the number one inmate who was Plankton who went to prison for stealing the Krabby Patty formula. However, due to the fact that his cell wasn't locked, he snuck under Frank's mustache and escaped (the mustache becoming Plankton's hair). He returns to the Chum Bucket only for Karen to kick him out for unknown reasons and gave him his old guitar. Plankton then hears SpongeBob singing about the Krabby Patty while censoring out the ingredients with weird noises. Plankton asks him to sing it uncensored, however SpongeBob thinks he wants him to join a band as his long hair and guitar. Plankton roles with it in hopes of steeling the formula. SpongeBob then runs into Patrick who just found out where boogers came from. SpongeBob then decides to let Patrick join due to his ability to play his stomach like a drum. Squidward then began criticizing them due to their lack of musical talent. However when asked to join, he accepts with the thought of becoming famous. SpongeBob, Patrick, and Plankton then start practicing while Squidward worked out to look good. SpongeBob told Patrick that he should dress more pizzazz to look better for the band. He then showed SpongeBob his ponytail that he grew naturally. He then did tricks with his hair, and grew more hair and sideburns. Plankton returned with band shirts naming their band "Plankton and the Patty Steelers". Despite this, they were still oblivious to Plankton's true intentions. Patrick asked for his in pink (to Plankton's dismay) and claimed it looked like a tattoo. They then started working on music. SpongeBob asked if the song could start off making a buzzard sound and end with a squeaking sound. Plankton agreed. Patrick kept Squidward's seat warm while Plankton took out his "recording equipment" to try and record SpongeBob's Krabby Patty song, but he was unable to find it and his equipment overloaded when Patrick wore the headphones and acted stupid while doing it. Plankton broke down crying as his plan failed, but SpongeBob gave him hope as Mr. Krabs was letting them play at the Krusty Krab after hours. Meanwhile now having achieved his "Perfect Dream Body" Squidward finally went to practice. A week later they were on their way to the Krusty Krab when a cop showed up. Plankton told SpongeBob to hid him saying that cops were "autograph hounds". SpongeBob hid plankton in his nose. The cop questioned where they were headed to and noticed a booger in SpongeBob's nose, however drove off. Plankton demanded that he would never speak of it to anyone. The arrived at the Krusty Krab where Plankton unlocked the door. Plankton immediately started searching for the formula. However SpongeBob then noticed this and realized that the band was only to steal it. Cops then came and arrested Plankton. Now bald again they gave him a new cell inside a safe. SpongeBob Patrick and Squidward then visited him in prison saying that when he got out in 22 years would be their next performance. The episode ends with them practicing and Plankton being tortured by it.

March 15 and March 22 2031

One week later
  • This episode is rated TV-Y7.
  • Patrick played "William Tell Overture" on his belly.
  • Squidward told SpongeBob and Patrick that they do not know about music, but SpongeBob was magnificent at singing and playing the electric guitar in the movie, singing Goofy Goober Rock!, and he also sings Sweet Victory in Band Geeks. This means that Squidward is jealous, or temperamental.
  • The Krabby Patty Formula is written in random letters.
    • The Krabby Patty Secret Formula is revealed to have "humorous censorship," to keep viewers from discovering the secret formula themselves.
  • The title is also a reference to an old SpongeBob SquarePants holiday commercial. It was to promote a fake holiday album that Plankton made himself. At the beginning of it, an announcer said that on the albums Plankton made was called "Krabby Road".
  • When Squidward was working out this could refer to Wishing You Well when Patrick said to work out more.
  • In the German version of this episode, the episode is called Krabby Patty Blues.
  • Some of the tough fish who were accepted into the Salty Spitoon in No Weenies Allowed appeared in the beginning of this episode as prisoners.
  • Patrick has a natural talent to instantly grow hair in any style. This may be because in Patrick SmartPants, he made a formula that did just that to him.
  • SpongeBob plays bass guitar, and it's a red version of the one Mrs. Puff played in Band Geeks.
  • This is the only episode where Mr. Krabs doesn't appear when Plankton tries to steal the Krabby Patty Secret Formula.
  • When SpongeBob said "Hey Plankton can our first song be like this?" and he makes a deep alarm noise then a high-pitched screech has become a internet fad which a dreadful noise will replace the alarm noise and the high-pitched screech and it is called Hey Plankton.
  • Although multiple years after the movie, some fans thought this episode was set right after the movie, due to the movie ending with Plankton going to prison, and this episode started with him escaping prison. This is untrue because the movie takes place 30 years after the final episode, Plankton doesn't remember the formula, the Krusty Krab 2 is not seen or even mentioned, and no events or characters from the movie are mentioned or even referred to in any way

Cultural References

  • The episode title is in reference to an album by The Beatles called Abbey Road.

  • When Squidward tries to lift the weight and injuries his arm, SpongeBob can hear him scream in pain over the phone. However, just before this, Squidward had hung up his phone, so SpongeBob shouldn't have been able to hear Squidward's scream.
  • Squidward is seen playing left-handed when the group is warming up in the Krusty Krab, but later is seen holding the guitar right-handed outside the restaurant. This error also happens in Jellyfishing.
