It is a basic plot

Pickles 4

The Double Triple Bossy Deluxe is the burger ordered by Bubble Bass in the episode "Pickles." It consists of the same ingredients as a usual Krabby Patty with twice as many ingredients. The Patty Bubble Bass receives is said to have no pickles. This causes SpongeBob to become disoriented and forget how to do anything.

Once SpongeBob regains his confidence he serves Bubble Bass again. The latter claims the pickles are missing again, though it is then revealed that Bubble Bass faked the whole incident by hiding the pickles under his tongue, much to everyone's anger.

After Squidward realizes that he actually likes Krabby Patties, he informs SpongeBob about an order for a Triple Krabby Supreme, albeit letting the customer's identity remain unknown because he doesn't want him finding out his true love for Krabby Patties. He orders one on a kelp bun with extra sea pickles and demands him to burn it to a crisp.

Once SpongeBob is finished with the order, he bursts out of the kitchen and announces the patty's name to the customer. Since no one responds, SpongeBob figures that they left, not knowing that the customer is Squidward himself, and eats the patty due to its fresh quality, thus disagreeing to adhere to Squidward's idea to save it in case the customer comes back, much to Squidward's disappointment.

King-Size Ultra Krabby Supreme

043a - Just One Bite (010)

A King-Size Ultra Krabby Supreme is a deep-fried Krabby Patty on a stick. It only appears in the episode "Just One Bite." This is what Harold orders at the beginning of the episode, with mayo as his condiment of choice.

SpongeBob wants to go on a dinner date with her at the Krusty Krab, but Mr. Krabs informs him that because food is intended for consumption, SpongeBob cannot stay attached to Patty too long and has no other choice but to eat her.

As such, he brings a printer to work, which produces the Paper Patties. The customers initially do not realize that the patties are made of paper, but once they do, they leave the restaurant.

Jelly Patty

Main article: Jelly Patty

The Jelly Patty was invented by SpongeBob in the episode "Jellyfish Hunter" and consisted of an ordinary Krabby Patty topped with jellyfish jelly. The jelly made the Krabby Patty taste amazingly good, and proved highly addictive to those who consumed it. SpongeBob let Fred try a Jelly Patty and was so entranced by the taste that he served them to the whole restaurant, who were all amazed at the taste.

Mr. Krabs saw how good the jelly was and tricked SpongeBob into catching all of the jellyfish in Jellyfish Fields so that he could profit off of their delicious jelly. SpongeBob did so and soon captured every jellyfish there.

After all of the jellyfish were captured, Mr. Krabs imprisoned them in a factory where he proceeded to drain them all of their jelly, sucking many of them dry. However, SpongeBob caught on to this with the help of the blue jellyfish, No Name, and they had freed the jellyfish, who zapped Mr. Krabs before returning home.

Having been badly injured and having lost all of the jellyfish, Mr. Krabs took Jelly Patties off of the menu.

Nature Patty

Main article: Nature Patty
Food Con Castaways 062

The Nature Patty was invented by SpongeBob in the episode "Food Con Castaways" and consisted of a Krabby Patty with organic ingredients replaced for the regular ingredients. They are similar to regular Krabby Patties but taste different and has all-natural ingredients. SpongeBob made these to help fuel up the crew after they get lost in the woods to keep them from eating the regular Krabby Patty so they could win the Food Con for The Krusty Krab. Squidward does not like then, nor does Mr. Krabs, and they both spat it out, but the Mayor and Patrick on the other hand seems to enjoy it, considering that Patrick enjoys almost everything he eats.

Pretty Patty

Main article: Pretty Patties
The Pretty Patty was originally an idea from SpongeBob as an attempt to attract new customers to the Krusty Krab in the episode "Patty Hype." They were much like ordinary Krabby Patties, except that they came in many different colors such as blue, red, green, orange, yellow, purple, plaid, and even glow-in-the dark. At first, SpongeBob was ridiculed for this idea, and he had temporarily left the Krusty Krab to pursue Pretty Patties as a personal business interest. As a result, Pretty Patties were never sold at the Krusty Krab restaurant. Regardless, SpongeBob instantly became successful after everyone in Bikini Bottom found out how great they tasted. This persuaded Mr. Krabs to eventually take over SpongeBob's business so he could get all the money. Unfortunately, the next day, it was shown that the Pretty Patties had strange effects on whoever ate them. This led to Mr. Krabs being run off by colorful people, and the business was shut down. Pretty Patties were never sold or seen again after their first appearance.

Nasty Patty

Main article: Nasty Patty (food)
In the episode of the same name, SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs create the Nasty Patty in an attempt to prank the health inspector, believing that he was actually a criminal in disguise. Spongy Patty

Main article: Spongy Patties
In "The Krusty Sponge," Mr. Krabs decides to turn the Krusty Krab into a SpongeBob-themed restaurant after food critic Gene Scallop makes a positive review about the fry cook. He goes too far by creating the Spongy Patty, a Krabby Patty used with old, expired yellow patty meat that was not in the freezer. Eating these causes the customers to get sick, turn yellow with olive-green spots, and have distended bellies, nearly getting Mr. Krabs convicted and shutting down the Krusty Sponge.

Synthetic Krabby Patty

Where's the love?

In "Selling Out," the Krabby O'Monday's use gray sludge (believed to be garbage) to make Krabby Patties. These are called "Synthetic Krabby Patties." The "garbage" comes out of a pipe and onto a conveyor belt, where it is then shaped and painted to look like an actual Krabby Patty. When the customers realize what they are eating, they are disgusted and run out of the restaurant.

Krusty Dog

SpongeBob makes his first Krusty Dog.

The Krusty Dog is made in the episode "Krusty Dogs." SpongeBob creates a patty shaped like a hot dog and it becomes so popular that it surpasses the Krabby Patty as the best food at the Krusty Krab. With SpongeBob missing the patties and Squidward embarrassed by his outfit, especially around children, they team up to get customers to stop eating the Krusty Dogs by making them think they are poisonous, but this makes them crave it more. SpongeBob comes up with the idea to stuff them with balloons and inflating them before the customer eats it.

No one wants to have one after that and they go back to the original patties, but Squidward has to wear a more humiliating costume. Mr. Krabs also managed to replace Krabby Patties with Krusty Dogs in this episode, which SpongeBob viewed as a drastic change.

The Krusty Dog is made with:

  • Buns (for hot dogs)
  • Patty (with secret ingredient)
  • Mustard (optional)
  • Ketchup (optional)
  • Cheese (optional)

Krusty Krab Pizza

Main article: Krusty Krab Pizza
The Krusty Krab Pizza is a pizza that only appears in "Pizza Delivery." The only reason it was made was because a customer, on the phone, asks if they serve pizza, and Mr. Krabs quickly smashes a few Krabby Patties into a pizza. The Pipsqueak Patty is a smaller version of a Krabby Patty and has a smile on the top bun. It is available in Krusty Kid's Meals. Despite this, it costs a dollar more. Usually, the smaller meals cost less, but not to Mr. Krabs. The Pipsqueak Patty appears in the episode "Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy V," "Mermaid Man vs. SpongeBob," and the mobile app SpongeBob Moves In!

Monster Krabby Patty

Main article: Monster Krabby Patty
A Monster Krabby Patty is a larger version of a Krabby Patty. Based on Squidward's comments, it is a rare order. This item is a key aspect of the plotline in the episode "All That Glitters." The amount of meat required for this item puts too much force on SpongeBob's spatula, which broke. Later, his spatula does not break, but his arm gets detached.

Greasy variations

SpongeBob looking at a grease-covered patty

In "Greasy Buffoons," ever since SpongeBob cleaned out a massive container full of grease, Plankton had the idea of products with irresistible grease to attract customers. To gain his customers back, Mr. Krabs started his own greasy products. After a feud, the health inspector would force the two rivals, Krabs and Plankton, to shut down their restaurants unless the grease was gotten rid of.

The defeated deluxe patties would soon be replaced by Yummy Bunz, which were literally buns covered in grease. Plankton laid off patties and stuck it to grease being the only ingredient of the product and had extra flavor. The Crispity Crunchities would attract customers in a crowd just like his other greasy products. Mr. Krabs would later use Wow! Soup to take back success. This is actually just grease on a paper plate.

Crustless Krabby Patty

Krusty Towers 24

As the name suggests, this is a Krabby Patty with the crust on the buns removed. It appears in the episodes "Bubble Buddy" and "Krusty Towers." In both episodes, Squidward is forced to cut the crust off the patty to satisfy two customers, Bubble Buddy and Patrick respectively.

Krabby Patty with toenail clippings and nose hair

Krusty Towers 33

This is a gruesome Krabby Patty ordered by Squidward in the episode "Krusty Towers." Squidward wants Mr. Krabs to eat it, but he refuses. SpongeBob then tells Mr. Krabs that is not a Krabby Patty with cheese, toenail clippings, and nose hair, so Mr. Krabs eats it. Unfortunately, there are toenail clippings and nose hair on the patty, as Mr. Krabs gets angry at SpongeBob. SpongeBob then tells Mr. Krabs that they were all out of cheese, meaning it was a Krabby Patty without cheese, toenail clippings, and nose hair. The next scene shows Patrick's room full of cheese.

Aside from the addition of toenail clippings and nose hair, it actually looks like a normal Krabby Patty.

Flabby Patty

Main article: Flabby Patty

The Flabby Patty is a variation created by SpongeBob in an attempt to make Mr. Krabs and Plankton work together. The patty is supposedly delicious. The recipe is:

  • Four pounds Grade-A Love

  • Hold in Warm Heart

Chopper Patty

Relish Patty

Main article: Relish Patty

A Relish Patty is a Krabby Patty made with the gooey remains of the Jelliens and the Evil Alien Jellyfish Overlord in "Planet of the Jellyfish." The burgers look like regular Krabby Patties except they have special "freaky clone jelly relish" on them and it makes lots of money for the Krusty Krab.

Squidward's Krabby Patty

"Oh my goodness! Squidward!"

In the episode "The Algae's Always Greener," in the alternate-universe Krusty Krab, Nat Peterson complains about his Krabby Patty made by Squidward. The patty contains moldy meat, cheese, and buns, hair, an eyeball, a sock, a plank of wood, nail pins, and a dead fly. Plankton then calls Squidward out for his poor cooking.

Frozen Krabby Patty

Goodbye, Krabby Patty 135

In the episode "Goodbye, Krabby Patty?," Mr. Krabs makes an agreement with Don Grouper about making a convenient meal which he calls the "Frozen Krabby Patty." Don suggests maximizing profit by adding sand as filler, which Mr. Krabs foolishly agrees, without realizing the truth behind the filler.

Initially, it is a success, with everyone buying them from the supermarket and getting their convenience of not having to go to the Krusty Krab to get them. This, however, is later shown that the side effects of the filler are greatly enlarged buttocks.

Health Hazards

The Krabby Patty is known for being extremely unhealthy and fattening. Squidward once referred to it as "a heart attack on a bun". They can also have a dangerous and unfortunate side effect. When way too many Krabby Patties are eaten at one time, the consumer will get very fat in the thigh area and explode. This happened to Squidward in "Just One Bite," when he broke into the Patty Vault and ate too many Krabby Patties at once. Fortunately, Squidward was only reduced to a living head and survived the explosion and somehow got his body back in later episodes. Its health hazards are also quickly shown in The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, on the introduction as a doctor states while Burger Beard the Pirate stating that it is unhealthy that a fish due to eating Krabby Patties will be gone in a week.

However, if one does not have a Krabby Patty after an extensive period, he/she will suffer from Krabby Patty Withdrawal. If one does not eat a Krabby Patty during the withdrawal, he/she will mumble about it for the next three and a half minutes like Patrick did in "Pat No Pay." Krabby Patty withdrawal is due to thinking of the Krabby Patty which causes severe stomach aches. Such physiological and psychological symptoms suggest that the Secret Ingredient in a Krabby Patty supposedly contains highly addictive properties, or is possibly even some sort of narcotic.

  • Secret Formula - Unexplained

  • They are SpongeBob's favorite food, as revealed in the season 7 episode "You Don't Know Sponge."
  • They have the most appearances out of any food in the series.
  • Although it is unknown what the Krabby Patty Formula is, Stephen Hillenburg has hinted that the formula is vegetarian.[citation needed]
  • Krabby Patty is frequently misspelled on the menu as "Krabby Pattie." One example is in the episode "Pickles."
  • Replicas of a Krabby Patty can be made from sand or mud, as seen in "Ugh" and "To Save a Squirrel," but they usually taste horrible. In "Extreme Spots," Patrick tasted a sandy Krabby Patty and said: "A bit dry, but flavorless. I'll take two dozen." Of course, Patrick will eat and enjoy almost anything.
  • Throughout the series people order a Krabby Patty with Kelp fries and a sea-foam soda.
  • The Krabby Patty was originally called the "Barnacle Burger" or the "Krusty Patty."[citation needed]
  • Once consumed, the body needs it to function properly, which suggests that the Secret Sauce contains a highly addictive substance or narcotic.
  • A common misconception is that the Krabby Patty secret formula is the order of condiments and vegetables in between the top and bottom bun, even though it is actually the recipe for the patty meat itself.
  • The price for a Krabby Patty changes constantly throughout the series. A notable price change was in The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie where they rose to be over $99.
    • An explanation for this could be Mr. Krabs trying to make more money, because he saw King Neptune arriving at the Krusty Krab.
  • In the episode "Keep Bikini Bottom Beautiful," SpongeBob was seen trying to follow the complete life cycle of a Krabby Patty, by making it and then throwing it away and throwing himself away with it and succeeded.
  • Mr. Krabs has the Krabby Patty Secret Formula written down on a piece of paper. He keeps the paper rolled up and inside a bottle. The hidden location of the bottle changes constantly because Mr. Krabs needs to keep the formula hidden from Plankton. Once Plankton discovers the location of the formula, Mr. Krabs needs to change it.
  • Some of the locations of the formula have been: in Mr. Krabs' well, in a cubical steel safe, under the floorboards in Mr. Krabs' office, at home under Mr. Krabs' mattress, in SpongeBob's kitchen, etc.
  • Krabby Patties have made Mr. Krabs a millionaire.
  • In the Irish dubbed version of SpongeBob SquarePants that airs on TG4 in the Republic of Ireland, the Krabby Patty is called a "Krabby Burger" instead.
  • It is shown in "Squirrel Record," a Krabby Patty saved Sandy's life from raw chum because Sandy was trying to make a record to eat raw chum and survive.
  • In most season one episodes and several season two episodes, the Krabby Patty sesame seeds are black instead of white. In most season one episodes the buns are browner, and less orange. The Krabby Patties are also smaller in season one and part of season two.
  • In the Russian dub, the Krabby Patties were called "Крабсбургеры," which translates to Krabby Burger. However, In season one it is called "Ленивая Пэтти" which translates to Lazy Patty. On a few occasions, they are called "Крабовое Пате" which sounds much like Krabby Patty but actually translates as Krabby Pate.
  • The episode "Someone's in the Kitchen with Sandy" shows that a Krabby Patty has to be cooked at 274 degrees for 283 seconds.
  • Many times the closed captions misspell Krabby Patty as "Crabby Patty" or "Crabbie Pattie."
Krusty Towers - Closed-Captions error

An example of the closed-captions misspelling Krabby Patties as "Crabby Patties"

  • In the Turkish dubbed version, Krabby Patties are called "Yengeç Burger" which literally means "Crab Burger."
  • Burger Beard the Pirate says that a Krabby Patty is so good everyone eats them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
  • The Krabby Patty's secret ingredient was once shipped to Mr. Krabs, but it mysteriously disappeared. This suggests that the secret ingredient is too complex for Mr. Krabs to produce on the premises.
  • In the Japanese dub of the show, the Krabby Patty is called the "Kani Burger." Kani is Japanese for "crab," which is why Mr. Krabs is called "Kani-san" in the dub.
  • In Bulgarian dub, it is called "ракбургер," means "crab burger."
  • Krabby Patties have been sold frozen in stores in the episode "Goodbye Krabby Patty?"
  • It's possible that Imitation Crab meat is in the Krabby Patty because of the Nickelodeon website.
  • The Krabby Patty is surprisingly cheap considering how cheap Mr. Krabs is.
  • The patty Bubble Bass ordered isn't actually what SpongeBob gave him. In real life, the burger would be much bigger and take much longer to prepare. If SpongeBob really filled the order, the sandwich would've been cold and soggy by the time it left the kitchen.
  • There is a candy called Giant Gummy Krabby Patties based on the Krabby Patty from the show.
  • In The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, it is revealed that without Krabby Patties a disaster will occur.
