This is the page about the author. For other uses, see John (disambiguation).

John Slimebeck is the author of the book "Of Snails and Men." He has not appeared in the SpongeBob Universe, as his name only appears on the book in Dream Gary's library in the episode "Sleepy Time."

During the episode, the book is shown when Dream SpongeBob and Dream Gary walk to the book that contains the phrase "Let me not mar that perfect Dream" and the alteration of "There Was An Old Man From Peru."

  • His name is a parody of John Steinbeck, a real life author.
  • His book, titled "Of Snails and Men," is also a parody of the 1937 film and book, "Of Mice And Men."
