Joe[2] is a citizen of Bikini Bottom who usually works as a paramedic.

Joe is recognizable by his lime-green skin and large dark green eyes. He has light green arms and dark green legs. He is usually paired with a co-worker who looks exactly like him. This co-worker is possibly his twin brother.

Joe is seen in the episode "Boating School" as a paramedic, cramming an inflated Mrs. Puff into an ambulance.

In "The Chaperone," when the prom is getting ruined by people doing the dance called "The Sponge," Joe and his co-worker are seen running through the crowd holding a stretcher, with people piling on top of it.

In "Just One Bite," when Squidward is being taken to the hospital by an ambulance, Joe is seated next to Squidward's disembodied head, holding a bucket containing the rest of his body and legs as he recalls his first Krabby Patty.

In "Born Again Krabs," he and his co-worker rush a deathly ill Mr. Krabs through the halls of the hospital, after Mr. Krabs makes the decision to eat the rotten Krabby Patty.

In "Funny Pants," he is seen with a fellow paramedic that looks identical to him at the Krusty Krab when they were eating lunch and laughing at SpongeBob's joke. Later, he was seen putting Squidward on an ambulance because he broke his laugh box.

In "Snail Mail," he is seen with a fellow paramedic that looks identical to him at the Krusty Krab when they were hired by Sandy Cheeks to help prevent a catastrophe at the Bikini Bottom Air Show.

In "The Smoking Peanut," Joe and an identical co-worker are seen trying to calm down Clamu at the Bikini Bottom Zoo. Clamu threw him into the air, but he survived. Joe was seen again at the end of the episode cheering in the background when Clamu had a baby.
