The Help Wanted sign is a sign that sometimes appears in the window or on the door of the Krusty Krab in certain episodes. It first appears in the episode "Help Wanted."

Description[]

It is a white rectangular sign with the words "help wanted" written in red lettering and all capitals, usually seen when someone gets fired or if the Krusty Krab needs extra employment.

Role in series[]

"Help Wanted"/My Happy Book: SpongeBob's 10 Happiest Moments[]

The Help Wanted sign is on the Krusty Krab window. SpongeBob notes that the sign is there and Squidward panics when he realizes SpongeBob has come to apply for a job.

"Hooky"[]

When Mr. Krabs is acting as if SpongeBob is going to die due to the hook "taking him away," he puts up the Help Wanted sign on the Krusty Krab.

"Dying for Pie"[]

After learning that SpongeBob has eaten the exploding pie, Squidward takes him out to do all the things he wanted to do before he dies. As they leave the Krusty Krab, Mr. Krabs can be seen putting the sign on the window. SpongeBob wrongly assumes that Squidward is going to be fired.

"Welcome to the Chum Bucket"[]

The sign appears near the end of the episode, because Mr. Krabs had put up the sign when SpongeBob had to work at the Chum Bucket and had not yet had time to take it down.

"Sailor Mouth"[]

The sign's appearance in this episode is an error, as the sign is briefly seen, but no one was fired.

"Squid on Strike"[]

Mr. Krabs is seen blowing dust off the sign shortly after firing SpongeBob and Squidward.

"As Seen on TV"[]

The sign briefly appears on the windows of both Krusty Krabs. It can also been seen on the window of the Krusty Krab during the Krusty Krab commercial.

"Krab Borg"[]

The sign appears on the Krusty Krab window when the Krusty Krab first appears in the middle of the episode.

"Selling Out"[]

A similar-looking sign appears in this episode, although it does not appear to be the same one.

"Spy Buddies"[]

It briefly appears in the intro.

"To Love a Patty"[]

It is most likely a mistake in the episode.

"Stanley S. SquarePants"[]

Makes a cameo in the episode.

"SpongeBob LongPants"[]

Fancy! has its own such sign.

"Mermaid Pants"[]

Makes a cameo during the night at the Krusty Krab.

Role in books[]

Food Fight![]

It appears as Plankton plans his plan, and it reappears when he drops the tartar sauce on the Krusty Krab.

Trivia[]

  • The sign's appearances in "Sailor Mouth," "Krab Borg," "Spy Buddies," and Food Fight! are errors, as there is no point in any of these that Mr. Krabs is firing or hiring someone.
