Relatives from different time periods
Primitive Sponge
In "SB-129", Squidward accidentally travels to early prehistoric times, where he meets early ancestors of SpongeBob and Patrick. This primitive sponge has little in common with his modern counterpart, being a savage and unintelligent creature with no discernible spoken language. He and the primitive starfish are seen stinging themselves with a jellyfish, and Squidward teaches them jellyfishing to stop them from torturing themselves, inadvertently inventing the sport in the process. He then sits down to play his clarinet, but SpongeBob and Patrick's ancestors are angered by the sound, and begin viciously chasing him until he reaches the time machine.
SpongeGar
SpongeGar is a prehistoric version of SpongeBob seen in "Ugh". SpongeGar and Patar are distinct from the neanderthals seen in "SB-129", more closely resembling their modern day counterparts and having developed a simple language. They, along with Squog inadvertently discover fire, and quickly begin fighting over it.
SpongeBuck SquarePants
SpongeBuck SquarePants is an ancestor of SpongeBob who appears in "Pest of the West". SpongeBuck moved to Dead Eye Gulch in search of a job, and was immediately hired as the sheriff. He stood up to Dead Eye Plankton, a wealthy citizen who owned almost all the land in the town. SpongeBuck challenged him to a western-style stand-off, in which he accidentally stomped on him as they walked toward each other. SpongeBuck had saved the town and in his honor, a statue was built. The statue was put in the center of the town, what is now downtown Bikini Bottom. It had been covered in jellyfish waste over the years when it was discovered by SpongeBob, who cleaned the statue to reveal his ancestor.
SpongeTron
SpongeTron is a robot/cyborg version of SpongeBob who lives 2,000 years into the future. He looks virtually identical to his present-day counterpart, but has various robotic abilities, such as hovering and heat vision. He has 486 clones, each representing a letter of the alphabet, which has apparently been greatly expanded in the future.
