Character

Goofy Goober is the peanut mascot of Goofy Goober's Ice Cream Party Boat. He first appears in The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie book.

Description[]

Goofy Goober is a large, light tan peanut character with light green arms and legs. He wears a Southern hat, a red bow tie with yellow dots, and Mickey Mouse-like gloves. He also holds a lollipop. He has a single tooth, two large dimples on his cheeks, and a nose resembling Pinocchio's. The costume also has a few gadgets hidden inside such as a long spring with a pointing finger on the end and a vacuum.

Role in series[]

The Goofy Goober is a mascot and entertainer of the Goofy Goober's Ice Cream Party Boat. He debuts as a movie character but made a comeback in the episode "Patnocchio." In the episode "The Goofy Newbie" he is a bodyguard in disguise that has been seen in several other episodes in the series.

Roles in movies[]

The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie[]

Goofy Goober is first seen entertaining the children and singing the "Goofy Goober Theme Song" on the stage. He is last seen on stage with a drunk SpongeBob and Patrick.

Roles in the main show[]

"Patnocchio"[]

After being mentioned and referenced in many episodes throughout the series, Goofy Goober finally made his first physical appearance in the show as a cameo. He is shown as a waiter at Goofy Goober's Ice Cream Party Boat in this episode.

"The Goofy Newbie"[]

He appears in the beginning of the episode, handing balloons to the children at Goofy Goober's Ice Cream Party Boat. Squidina then calls him to kick Patrick out since he keeps trying samples instead of actually buying ice cream. Goofy Goober takes his disguise off, revealing his true form as the bodyguard, and uses an ice cream scooper to scoop Patrick out of the ice cream parlor.

On his first day of working at the Goofy Goober's Ice Cream Party Boat, Patrick temporarily takes over Goofy Goober's job by dressing up as the peanut himself. He eventually uses the costume to steal ice cream by sucking it up with the hidden vacuum in the costume. Patrick almost gets fired because of this.

"Goofy Scoopers"[]

He is seen serving ice cream at the start of the episode, and later dances to the electronic music at the end of the episode while holding glowsticks.

"My Friend Patty"[]

When SpongeBob and Krabby Patty visit Goofy Goober's, Goofy Goober is dancing and singing to entertain children. After placing his order, SpongeBob finds Krabby Patty trying to shove itself into Goofy Goober's mouth. SpongeBob mistakenly believes that Goofy Goober is trying to eat his friend and declares that he will never come back to the restaurant, only to come back in and say "See you tomorrow!" to Goofy Goober.

Trivia[]

  • According to Vincent Waller, Paramount Pictures formerly did not allow any movie-exclusive content to be used in the SpongeBob SquarePants series from 2005 to 2014. This is why Goofy Goober did not make a physical appearance in an episode until "Patnocchio." He recalled, "We couldn't even use images of Goofy Goober from the movie back then."[1]
    • This makes him the second character from the movie to fully appear in the series. Perch Perkins was the first.
