Loser 3, also known as the whale[2], is one of the three "Loser" incidentals who first appears in the episode "Ripped Pants."

Description[]

He is a very large black colored blue whale with a pale gray underside with a squiggly border. He wears orange swim trunks. His current appearance was originally considered to be his preliminary colors for his old colors, which consists of him wearing dark green swim trunks.

Loser 3 makes a few appearances throughout the series as a background character. He has also been portrayed as a businessman in a few of his appearances as well. He makes his most prominent appearance is in his debut "Ripped Pants."

After SpongeBob rips his pants off and realizes the mistakes he made, he asks himself if he is the bigger loser on the beach. The whale pops up from underneath the sand and reveals that he was buried in the sand and forgotten to prove him wrong out of sympathy. He, along with Loser 1 and Loser 2, sing the "Ripped Pants" song with SpongeBob. The whale plays the drums during the song. At the end, he and the other band members rip their pants just like SpongeBob.

When he hears Patrick making whale sounds, he thinks it is his ex-wife, Martha, calling him until his friend assures him it is not.

He is one of the many guests seen at SpongeBob's birthday party. He is later seen singing "happy birthday" at the end with SpongeBob's friends and family.

  • Due to the coloration, he resembles different species of rorquals than blue whale.
