As of season 10, Mr. Krabs and Mrs. Puff have been dating for sixteen years. Their relationship is one of the few canon romantic pairings in the series.

They go on dates in six different episodes: "Krusty Love," "Whirly Brains," "Feral Friends," "My Two Krabses," "Kooky Cooks," and "Buff for Puff."

  • Mr. Krabs considers Mrs. Puff one of his "two great loves," with the other one being his money (rather than Pearl).
  • Mrs. Puff thinks Mr. Krabs is very sweet. She has called him sweet twice.

Episode instances[]

  • The first episode with major romantic interactions between them is in "Krusty Love," where Mr. Krabs falls in love with Mrs. Puff. He takes her to the Fancy! restaurant and uncharacteristically spends $100,000 on her, proving how deep his love is for her. Mr. Krabs enlists SpongeBob's help when he takes her on a second date. He goes crazy and asks SpongeBob to buy many expensive items for Mrs. Puff with his money. SpongeBob leaves after getting angry. Later, Mrs. Puff quickly goes to Mr. Krabs, kisses his forehead, and gives him money. The episode ends with Krabs' eyes forming a heart.
  • In "Party Pooper Pants," Mr. Krabs and Mrs. Puff dance together at SpongeBob's house party.
  • In "SpongeBob Meets the Strangler," Mr. Krabs and Mrs. Puff dance together at SpongeBob's party.
  • In "Summer Job," when Mr. Krabs gives Mrs. Puff a job, Mrs. Puff misunderstands what he is telling her and asks, "you mean we should go out on a date?"
  • In "Tutor Sauce," Mrs. Puff welcomes Mr. Krabs to her class. She is very happy about it.
  • In "Married to Money," Mrs. Puff shows up to Mr. Krabs' "wedding."
  • In "Whirly Brains," Mrs. Puff and Mr. Krabs go on a date behind a dumpster. As they each eat a Krabby Patty, Mr. Krabs reveals that they have been dating for sixteen years. He asks Mrs. Puff if she wants to share their first kiss on the lips. Mrs. Puff replies, "Oh, Eugene! I thought you'd never ask." They are about to kiss when SpongeBob and Patrick's Whirly Brains pass gas and cause Mrs. Puff to inflate. Mr. Krabs thinks that she did this as a result of their kiss and says, "What a wallop!" They are last seen as Mrs. Puff blushes and says, "Oh, Eugene!"
  • In "Feral Friends," Mrs. Puff and Mr. Krabs sit next to each other at Sandy's birthday party and when they get cake Mr. Krabs tries to feed it to Mrs. Puff. Then when the moon rises they try to kiss each other on the lips for the first time but fail when the moon changes them into normal sea animals. Later in the episode, Mrs. Puff tries to eat Mr. Krabs and when Sandy saves them she continues chasing him. Sandy remarked that she should of known to keep the couple from each other. At the end of the episode, they're about to fight but they turn back to normal and they like each other naked from being feral and run away laughing.
  • In "Spot Returns," there is a picture of Mr. Krabs on Mrs. Puff's shelf.
  • In "Teacher's Pests," Mr. Krabs apologizes to Mrs. Puff for accidentally messing up her classroom. He says "Sorry cutie."
  • In "Plankton's Old Chum," there is a photo of Mr. Krabs hanging on Mrs. Puff's wall.
  • In "Ride Patrick Ride," Mr. Krabs and Mrs. Puff go on a bike date. When Patrick's out-of-control biking disrupts them, they agree to have a date at their houses next time.

Times of conflict[]

  • "Wishing You Well" - While their interaction wasn't significant, Mr. Krabs was shocked to see that her wish of getting a new boat came true. Despite SpongeBob telling him that Mrs. Puff wished for the boat, he believed she stole the boat due to his non-belief in magic. However, he realizes that he was wrong after he wished to be served with butter and is eaten.
  • "The Krabby Kronicle" - While they didn't interact with each other, Mr. Krabs wrote a fake news article featuring Mrs. Puff in his newspaper saying that she was in a high speed car chase against the cops to make it more interesting to his readers, believing that it wouldn't affect Mrs. Puff anyway. However he was wrong, as it actually ruined her reputation as a boating teacher and her boating school soon ran out of business, and when SpongeBob tried to tell this to Mr. Krabs, he didn't care as his newspaper earned him more money. Later, Mrs. Puff was among the people angry with Mr. Krabs for writing lies about them and she cried saying that she had to going back to watch daytime shows because of the loss of her job, which in turn makes an angry mob to take back their money from Mr. Krabs, and he didn't show any remorse for hurting her, only for the loss of his money.
  • "Growth Spout" - Mr. Krabs tries to steal vegetables from Mrs. Puff's garden at night to feed his daughter Pearl, who was going through a growth spout, but instead he ended up grabbing her pet peanut worms by mistake, waking her up, who caught him in her garden, and without a second thought, she attacked him with a crowbar, called the police and even called him a "bad man" while comforting her pets.
  • "Teacher's Pests" - Mr. Krabs and Plankton are both sent to Mrs. Puff's Boating School after causing a chaotic car accident. During their time at Boating School, the two continuously cause disruptions, with Mrs. Puff threatening them with brass knuckles. However the two still to while trying to outdo the other, including throwing fruits in her mouth to get stars on the Good Noodle Board, resulting in Mrs. Puff hitting them both with an apple tree. They later drive crazily during the boating test, and Mrs. Puff fails them both.
  • "Plankton Paranoia" - Due to his mentally insane behavior, Mr. Krabs came to conclusion that Mrs. Puff was secretly working for Plankton. She frantically pleaded to him but he doesn't buy it and bans her from the restaurant. At the end, it turns out that she along with the rest of the gang were planning a surprise party for him. Mr. Krabs felt remorseful for his actions and apologized to his friends for banning them in the first place. He also prevented Mrs. Puff from eating his tainted patties that were meant for Plankton and got seriously injured to protect everyone as a result. Mrs. Puff was shocked by the pain he went through and they made amends after the party.
  • "Lighthouse Louie" - Mr. Krabs gets angry because Mrs. Puff's lighthouse destroyed his restaurant.
  • "Kooky Cooks" - Mrs. Puff gets angry at Mr. Krabs for acting very cheap and storms off the Fancy! restaurant.
  • "There Will Be Grease" - Mrs. Puff, along with other Bikini Bottomites, get angry at Mr. Krabs and Plankton for Dr. Krabton's Miracle Everything Juice giving her pink eye and then punches Mr. Krabs.
  • In "Buff for Puff," Mr. Krabs and Mrs. Puff have a beach date at Goo Lagoon, but when Larry the Lobster steps in to save Mr. Krabs after he gets stuck in the ocean, he thinks Mrs. Puff is impressed by Larry. Mr. Krabs goes to Larry's Gym to get buff in order to impress Mrs. Puff himself. However, this doesn't work and Mr. Krabs resorts to stealing Larry's shell instead. Due to his newfound arrogance at the beach, Mr. Krabs does not impress Mrs. Puff, who decides to go out on a beach date with Larry instead.

  • In the comic "Dollars and Scents," which was featured in an issue of Nickelodeon Magazine and illustrated by C.H. Greenblatt, Mr. Krabs needs his employees' help to find the "sexy" cologne for his upcoming date with Mrs. Puff. At the end of the story, Mrs. Puff shows up with a Krabby Patty-scented perfume, and the couple shares a kiss before walking into the sunset.
  • Mr. Krabs and Mrs. Puff's relationship is heavily featured in Chuckle and Cringe. In it, Mrs. Puff confesses to the reader, "I like Eugene Krabs. I really do."
  • In Good Ideas... and Other Disasters, Mr. Krabs and Mrs. Puff go on a date in the park. Mrs. Puff brings a seaweed pie that Mr. Krabs ends up having an allergic reaction to. She takes him to the hospital and waits for him to get better. At the end of the story, he appreciates the thought and doesn't mind that he had to visit the hospital. His last line is "sweet Mrs. Puff made me a seaweed pie."
  • In UFO!, every page featuring both Mr. Krabs and Mrs. Puff has them standing right next to each other.
  • In Yo-Ho-Ha-Ha-Ha!: A Pirate Joke Book, Mr. Krabs and Mrs. Puff tell a joke together.
  • In Party Time!, Mr. Krabs and Mrs. Puff are together at Squidward's party.
  • In the second volume of SpongeBob Comics Annual-Size Super-Giant Swimtacular, Mrs. Puff (as her superhero alter-ego Mrs. Explode) helps save Mr. Krabs from Gene Scallop.
  • SpongeBob Saves the Day features a retelling of "Krusty Love."
  • In The SpongeBob SquarePants Oracle, Mr. Krabs calls Mrs. Puff his "little shrimp boat."
  • They are together on the cover of The Complete Fifth Season DVD.
  • In a bumper commissioned by Nickelodeon Germany to celebrate the show's 10th anniversary, Mr. Krabs and Mrs. Puff are depicted in live-action versions, as the parents of a family.
  • "Intelligent Financial Life" mentions how much Mr. Krabs spends on dates with Mrs. Puff.
  • In The Patrick Star Show episode "The Lil' Patscals," Mr. Krabs and Mrs. Puff are known to each other as part of the gang called the "Kelp Bed Kids," along with GrandPat Star, Granny Tentacles ("Squigly"), and Old Man Walker ("Hoops").
  • During the Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 campaign mode, Mr. Krabs' heart utterly melts when he first visits Mrs. Puff, and the two of them subsequently share a sweet little conversation together. Krabs even offers to let her join him, with Puff only turning him down because she still needs time to get her bearings together (a decision that Krabs completely respects).
