Robert John Chomp (July 13, 1870 – November 3, 1962) was an American writer, novelist and poet whose career spanned six decades (1885–1945) of literature. Chomp first got into writing at the age of six, his grandfather George Randall IV was one of Chomp's influences. By 1940, he had outlived his ex-wife Carole (divorced in 1911) and four out of his five children and died on November 3, 1962. He was 92 years old. He is survived by one son, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. His funeral was held on November 6, 1962. His legacy lives on.
