Robert John Chomp (July 13, 1870 – November 3, 1962) was an American writer, novelist and poet whose career spanned six decades (1885–1945) of literature. Chomp first got into writing at the age of six[1], his grandfather George Randall IV was one of Chomp's influences. By 1940, he had outlived his ex-wife Carole (divorced in 1911) and four out of his five children and died on November 3, 1962. He was 92 years old[2]. He is survived by one son, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. His funeral was held on November 6, 1962. His legacy lives on.
