The Krusty Krab 2 is a restaurant founded by Eugene H. Krabs that serves as a duplicate of the original Krusty Krab. It appears in The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, its video game adaptation, its book adaptations, and the video game Nicktoons Challenge!
Role in movie[]
Mr. Krabs built it directly to the right of the original restaurant to make more money. It opened on March 7. When Perch Perkins asks what inspired him to build the Krusty Krab 2, Mr. Krabs simply answers with liking "money." The same day as the opening, Mr. Krabs announces the new manager and SpongeBob believes he will get the job, but Squidward gets it due to being more "mature", much to SpongeBob's sadness.
The next day, King Neptune comes to the restaurant and Mr. Krabs raises the prices thinking he wants to eat there. However, Neptune is actually there to retrieve his crown, which was stolen by Plankton the previous night and sold to Shell City as part of Plan Z and framed Mr. Krabs for the crime by leaving a fake note saying he was responsible. When SpongeBob comes to the restaurant after a night at Goofy Goober's Ice Cream Party Boat and says Mr. Krabs was a jerk, Neptune attempts to kill him before SpongeBob and Princess Mindy interfere. Neptune allows SpongeBob a chance to retrieve his crown within six days (originally ten until Patrick lowers it), and freezes Mr. Krabs until the deadline was up. After Mindy gives SpongeBob a Magical bag of winds, he and Patrick head off to Shell City in the Patty Wagon.
While SpongeBob and Patrick are off getting the crown and with Mr. Krabs frozen, Plankton uses the opportunity to steal the Krabby Patty secret formula and sell them at the Chum Bucket. He also gives out free bucket helmets to every customer that brainwashes them and allows him to turn Bikini Bottom into Planktopolis. After SpongeBob and Patrick retrieve the crown and return to Bikini Bottom with the aid of David Hasselhoff, Plankton drops a helmet on Neptune and brainwashes him too. However, SpongeBob is able to free everyone while performing Goofy Goober Rock. After Plankton is arrested, Neptune unfreezes Krabs and he makes SpongeBob the new manager.

When Mr. Krabs first opens the Krusty Krab 2, he appoints Squidward as the manager. Squidward assumes the duty and wears a "manager" pin on his shirt. When SpongeBob returns from Shell City and saves Mr. Krabs, the job is given to him.
