User requesting adminship: Muchacha Date discussion closed: May 23, 2014 Result of discussion: Unsuccessful request. Only 64.3% support, which is below the required 75%. Opinions are divided, but the consensus is that Muchacha is on his way to adminship, but not there yet. Some are uncertain with his ability to make decisions and are uneasy about him requesting input from new users who may be unfamiliar with the adminship process. His maturity has improved, but sometimes there is a lacking. Some of the supports are debatable as far as actual discussion vs. friends supporting an admin request. If Muchacha can take all these into consideration, his third request is more likely to be successful.
Hi, there. My name is Muchacha, but you can call me Jake. Like my good friend JosephHawk, I watch SpongeBob religiously, and am hyped about the second them. I have been on this wiki for a while now, and I think I'm ready to be admin.
But first of all, let's set some things straight. I know my grammar, fix misspellings, and try to ensure all sypnoses are in the present tense. I have also expanded and/or cleaned up transcripts to make them more informative, completed galleries, inserted or removed commas in articles when needed, and, in some cases, replaced them with semicolons or periods to avoid comma-splices.
I have my "Grandma Tentacles (30-day)" badge, and am currently 27 days away from earning the "ONE WEEK LATER (60-day)" badge. I also rank #10 on the leaderboard with nearly 4,800 points.
As you should know, I also recently got a promotion to chat mod after three spammers attacked the chatroom and I reported them. I am good with that, and it seems like good practice for adminship. I also co-founded the Medieval Fanon wiki with RoadRunner1, a good friend of mine.
Another reason I would like adminship is that recently, a user by the name of TheChamp7654 was making duplicates of SpongeBob, You're Fired! (the DVD, not the episode), and I could only put them up for deletion, and not really delete them.
I am a very friendly person, and I have learned the ropes. I think I'm ready, but even if I'm not, thanks in advance.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Before anyone else neutralizes or opposes, let me clear up some misconceptions the below voters think about me:
1. 13 admins are enough.
What's wrong with having 14 admins? The more admins, the better, right? With a bigger "police force" we can get things done faster.
2. I am abrasive.
Correction: I WAS abrasive to 120d, but he wasn't listening to me, and I wanted to get my point across. I might have gone too far. And I did want 120d demoted and I'm sorry for it. Since his demotion, 120d and I have stopped fighting and we're friends now.
Support - I think this fits now. You are a great contributor, and a smart guy. you are active, and give good edits. I don't check your edits as much now, because I know they are true. 120d thing is water under the bridge, and with Admin status, I don't think you'll try something as stupid as that again. With this, I support, and think it fits. (No 13 is not unlucky) TanHamMan 22:55,5/16/2014
Support - He is a very nice contributor.--Lemony gemmy (talk) 01:25, May 17, 2014 (UTC)
Oppose - You are a great contributor, but I don't think the wiki needs another admin. There are currently 12 admins, and all of them are creeuntly doing what you said you would do. The Running Dumpling (talk) 17:41, May 16, 2014 (UTC)The Running Dumpling
Oppose - I kind of agree. I am sorry Muchacha. You are a good contributor, but this wiki shouldn't have too many admins. The O-man
Can I ask a question? Are you guys superstitious about the number 13 14? It's not real, okay? What's wrong with having a bigger police force? You shouldn't worry. I'll be a great admin. :D 19:12,5/16/2014 Muchacha(W•C)OVERTIME?!!!
Oh, I'm not superstitious. :P I just believe that too many admins isn't a good idea (look what happened to the Fanon wiki…). Plus, being a great contributor, (which you definitely are) doesn't always mean you need to be an admin. No personal pal, just how I feel.
Guys, we can have as many admins as we want. It doesn't matter. TanHamMan 22:53,5/16/2014
Oppose -I oppose for a cuple of reasons: 1: The wiki has a lot of admins. What I mean by this is that everyithng that you propose to do can alrady be easily done by another admin, with them hving much more expereince. You don't offer anything new... 2: You have come across as a bit abrasive. 3:You keep begging everyne to vote for you, and that isn't nice. 4: AMK and Sponebob456 are neutral, which makes me hesitant to support. Neutral - - You're a very good contributor and I believe you have gained much more experience since your last request. I would say just watch that some of your comments don't come across as a but abrasive which they have done at times (mainly the ones towards 120d, but the rest have been good). I do agree with The Running Dumpling by the fact that we do already have a lot of Admins. Do we need any more? If numbers weren't an issue, then I'd move this to the Support heading. --Spongebob456talk 18:41, May 16, 2014 (UTC)
Don't worry about it. 120d and I are friends now. :) Admins aren't a bad thing. So it's fine. 18:52,5/16/2014 Muchacha(W•C)OVERTIME?!!!
Neutral - Hmm. I'm still deciding. You're contributions have been good lately but I didn't like how you acted pretty rudely to a user that just asked a question. This is what I mean by the way. ZeoSparkMC 22:58,5/16/2014
I'm sorry I was rude. I promise I'll do better. I'm going to personally apologize to that user right now. 23:18,5/16/2014 Muchacha(W•C)OVERTIME?!!!
That speaks kinda loud Muchacha. However, I don't change my mind. TanHamMan 23:57,5/16/2014
Well, you did apolgize but remember this: Badges don't really mean anything much. You don't need to get certain badge just to be an admin. That makes it sound like you only care about getting the badges. ZeoSparkMC 00:36,5/20/2014
Neutral - I am currently neutral. I like your contributions. Your behavior has improved. However, I am still skeptical. Maybe I will change my mind and support your request, but for now I am neutral. 120dTalkContribs 00:41,5/17/2014
Neutral - It's too early and I agree with the others. I am not opposed, but we will see how this goes. — AMK152 (Wall • Contrib) 01:11, May 17, 2014 (UTC)
