Instructions
This is a page for creating and resolving concerns on the topic: "Exempt chat moderators from time and edit requirements."
At the end of the page, there is a "Create New Concern" button, which you can use to voice your concerns or questions about the proposal. You can use the "Refresh This Discussion" button, which allows you to make sure that all changes have been saved.
After 7 days of discussion, the concerns stage will end. All points brought up during that phase will be taken into account and an administrator, assistant, or the proposal's creator can move the discussion to voting, modifying the original proposal with any changes discussed by the community.
You can also add your comments to existing concerns. On the other hand, if you have no concerns, then you just wait for the voting stage.
Have a happy discussion!
Proposal
Recently it has come to my attention that users cannot become chat moderators without first making an edit. I think that is unfair, as users may choose not to edit on ESB. Here is what I am proposing to be changed:
- 2. Requirements for all positions
- a. At least one (1) month must have passed since the user's first edit, except for becoming a chat moderator.
- b. You must be active in the chat-room for at least one month if attempting to request for chat moderator.
- c. The user must have a clean block record for at least one (1) month.
- d. The user must have support from a majority of all administrators.
- e. The user must have support from a majority of all bureaucrats. If the request fails to do so, it requires 75% support of administrators who are not bureaucrats for the request to pass unless otherwise stated.
This concerns stage will end on Tuesday, January 4, 2017 at 12:35 a.m., eastern time. ➞Sσпιҫᵀʰᵉξριҫッ

I agree. Chuck123456 (M•C•E) 15:51, December 28, 2016 (UTC)
I agree also. Trolls might pretend to be friendly whilst making the request but when they're promoted, they'll start abusing their power and attack users for no reason. HannahRae (M•C•U) 19:11, December 28, 2016 (UTC)
Not everybody is a troll. ➞§σпιҫᵀʰᵉξριҫッ 03:57, December 29, 2016 (UTC)

Preview • Modify • CommentYeah, there needs a reason. Qwertyxp2000 II (talk | contribs) 22:31, December 28, 2016 (UTC)
If you want a reason, I think we need to give users the ability to do more on the Wiki. Fandom(Wikia) is not just for editing, it's for building a community. ➞§σпιҫᵀʰᵉξριҫッ 03:58, December 29, 2016 (UTC)
Yes, I understand this but this wiki has a rights culture where most users want rights for the power rather than helping. You can dispute this, but it's a fact I'm afraid. The reason we have this month delay is to ensure users who are on the wiki stay here and not get the rights on day one and then leave. I do understand your arguments about editing and a user does not need thousands of edits to be promoted to CM. --Spongebob456 talk 13:31, December 31, 2016 (UTC)

Created concern: Trolls
Preview • Modify • CommentI can see why you might want to do this, as chat moderator is not so much an editing roll, but I would say that they need at least one edit, and would need to have been active in chat for at least a month. The active in chat aspect could come before the user's first edit if necessary. Just what I think would make more sense. - The gamer 987654321
