Introduction

Ever since the introduction of tasks, there has been a great response. With these new leaderboard and points system, there is a whole lot of potential, especially since people love to earn points and monitor their status on a leaderboard (as many do for badges). Of course, the tasks system is more effective in helping to grow the quality of content on the wiki. Additionally, we can have this system go through the entire network, and include things beyond tasks.

Proposal

In this proposal, I am proposing additional ways to earn points:

  • User of the Month
  • 2000 points
  • and 20 points times the rating (i.e. 10 rating = 200 points)
  • Nomination for UOTM (expired, non-winning) - it's quite something just to be nominated
  • 10 points times the rating
  • Example: 11 support + 1 oppose = 10 rating; then, 10 rating x 10 pts = 100 pts
  • Fanon contest winners (200 points)
  • 2nd place (100 points)
  • 3rd place (50 points)
  • 4th place (25 points)
  • All other entries (5 points; more than 1 entry still means 5 points)
  • Official trivia contest winner (50 points)
  • Background contest winners (100 points)
  • 2nd place (if applicable) (50 points)
  • 3rd place (if applicable) (25 points)
  • All other entires (5 points; more than 1 entry still means 5 points)

Additionally, I am proposing the following additions to tasks:

  • Creating a walkthrough
  • Large video game (2000 points)
  • Small video game (500 points)
  • Online game (50 points)

Additionally, if passed, this will apply to:

  • All past and present UOTM winners and nominations
  • All past and present background contests
