Instructions
This is a page for creating and resolving concerns on the topic: "Forum reorganization."
At the end of the page, there is a "Create New Concern" button, which you can use to voice your concerns or questions about the proposal. You can use the "Refresh This Discussion" button, which allows you to make sure that all changes have been saved.
After 7 days of discussion, the concerns stage will end. All points brought up during that phase will be taken into account and an administrator, assistant, or the proposal's creator can move the discussion to voting, modifying the original proposal with any changes discussed by the community.
You can also add your comments to existing concerns. On the other hand, if you have no concerns, then you just wait for the voting stage.

Proposal
I am proposing that we reorganize the forums. This proposal will not only help organize the forums better, but it involves the creation of an archive for certain threads so that we can focus on current threads and they are not buried among closed threads.
For your reference, here is the current list of all seven (7) forums:
- General
- SpongeBob SquarePants
- News and Announcements
- Tasks
- Off Topic
- Questions and Answers
- New on SpongeBob SquarePants
I propose we condense those forums into the following five (5) forums:
- 1. Encyclopedia SpongeBobia General - general forum renamed; posts for all ESB-related threads
- 2. SpongeBob SquarePants - for all all series-related threads
- 3. News and Announcements - for all series and wiki-related news (combines "News and Announcements" and "New on SpongeBob SquarePants")
- 4. Tasks - for all tasks
- 5. Off Topic - for off topic/games/etc.
Note that under this proposal, all "Questions and Answers" discussions will be brought to the appropriate forum. Right now it's just a combination of what usually goes on general or SpongeBob SquarePants forums. "Questions and Answers" does seems odd, as 1) we have a Questions/Answers wiki and 2) questions and answers could apply to any particular topic and would be better suited in the other forums where they are organized by topic (ESB or the show). People ask questions on all the forums, so it would be better to have them post on the proper forum for that topic.
The proposal also involves the creation of a new forum for archival purposes:
- 6. "Encyclopedia SpongeBobia Archive" - this forum will serve as an archive only for ESB related topics, such as proposals, discussions, and tasks. This way, the general (ESB) forum can be cleaned of ESB-related topics that have already been settled, such as announcements of discussions opening or going to voting stage, proposals, promotion requests, meeting announcements, etc. This is especially true when we have discussions on important matters that may get buried with threads that have been closed, thus we should move it over to an archive. This archive will only include completed ESB-related threads and completed task threads. All others will remain on their respective forums.

Preview • Modify • CommentI disagree with a couple of things:
- The "Question and Answers" board should be kept, well, for questions that users have. You get your questions answered there more frequently than if it was at SpongeBob Answers Wiki or if it was on another forum. Plus, there are already over 200 forum threads there, and moving them would make other forums more cluttered. It's best to just keep it as is.
- "ESB Archive" isn't necessary, since all it is doing is moving threads away from the "General Discussion" board. It's best to leave all threads regarding ESB in the same place, without the need to constantly change the thread topic after.
