Introduction

Without going into much detail in regards to the background of this situation, I am sure most, if not all of you are aware of the recent conflict between Encyclopedia SpongeBobia nad SpongeBob Galaxy. In an effort to stop this conflict and bring peace between the two communities, a treaty as been proposed.

Proposal

The text of the treaty is as follows:

The following is an agreement between Encyclopedia SpongeBobia (ESB), located at the URL http://spongebobia.wikia.com and SpongeBob Galaxy (SBG), located at the URL http://spongebobgalaxy.wikia.com, in order to resolve any conflict and preserve peace between the two communities. In this agreement, both communities: - 1. Agree that they are independent of each other. - 2. Agree that no community nor community member are superior or inferior, but that all are equal, both communities and their users. - 3. Agree not to attack each other in any way, and any such attack will be dealt with and resolved in a meeting between administrators of the two communities. - 4. Agree not to copy any content from each other without the consent of the other community and that if any such content is copied, must be removed until permission is given. - 5. Agree to resolve any conflict as peacefully and quickly as possible. - 6. Agree not to personally attack the other community or their respective users. This includes threats and harassment. - 7. Agree that any issue between the communities that is not resolved after two (2) weeks will be brought to Wikia Staff. - 8. Acknowledge that all users are free to contribute to one or both wikis as they please, as long as its not destructive and does not break the terms of this treaty. - 9. Acknowledge that all users have the ability to request and be promoted to any position on one or both communities, as long as they follow the respective community's policies for such promotion. - 10. Agree to allow users of each community to participate and/or observe the other community's meetings, as long as they do not show hostility. Dated this nineteenth day of August in the year two thousand fourteen, and signed by:

Oppose

• Template:Extremely Strong Oppose The fact that we need a peace treaty to resolve a ridiculous conflict is absurd in my mind.

I also disagree with someone of the points. (7 & 9)
7. Serious issues should be brought to Staff immediately. Waiting 2 weeks is just ridiculous, especially if it is serious.
9. I do not think it's morally right for a user to help lead 2 "different" SpongeBob Wikis. If they are to remain "independent" (as stated in #1), they should have different sysops/chat mods.

In my mind, this "peace treaty" really is just a statement saying we agree to respect one another, and will not harm each other. Isn't it enough to say that? Are we so immature that we have to have a written document pointing out obvious things such as not being rude, or that we must respect each other's rules? Joey ^(talk)

Yea, but it shows how bad this place is run. I mean, you demote 1 user, have constant debates between each other, and then expect peace? Gimme a break. This place has too much drama for my taste. Ωniθηζ ~ [Talk]

Actually, ESB got attacked for demoting Auron. They create hostility, even though the demotion was justified. We made enemies with that demotion. Hours later, with this treaty, we are no longer enemies. — AMK152 (Wall • Contrib) 03:13, August 20, 2014 (UTC)

• Oppose - Maybe instead of trying to fix the problem, we get along. Then a treaty wouldn't have to exist. Since ESB is on its own network, with several others, and SpongeBob Galaxy wants no part in it, they don't have to have that, and it should be left at that. Why? Because, conflict makes no progress, and we have to concern ourselves with petty stuff.
