Brief summary: Mr. Krabs becomes earns his millionth dollar, but when a giant clam eats it, he goes insane and threatens to starve Spongebob and Squidward until it is recovered.
At the Krusty Krab, Sandals purchases an order of coral bits, and an alarm suddenly blares out. Squidward assures the customer that it is something stupid, and Mr. Krabs bursts out of his office and starts to dance with the dollar to intense celebratory music. Mr. Krabs informs everyone that he's received his millionth dollar, which is every crab's goal in life.
He kicks out all of the customers, and tells SpongeBob and Squidward that they're going on a trip to celebrate. They go clam fishing on a cheap boat on a smelly lagoon, much to Squidward's disappointment. SpongeBob accidentally removes everything from the boat while he is casting his line, which Mr. Krabs doesn't mind, until Spongebob hooks onto Mr. Krabs's butt, showing the dollar, and rips it off, exposing the audience to Mr. Krabs's bare butt. Dramatic music begins playing, signaling an incoming clam attack, and SpongeBob begins reeling in the dollar as fast as he can. He manages to reel it into the boat, and Mr. Krabs grabs the dollar. However, a clam jumps out of the water, eats the dollar, and falls back in. Mr. Krabs gravely wails over this. Squidward and SpongeBob attempt to make Mr. Krabs happy by giving him a dollar out of Squidward's wallet, but to no success. Mr. Krabs then nails a sandwich to a flagpole, tossing all the other sandwiches overboard. Squidward doesn't care, saying that they have plenty more to eat, but is interrupted when Mr. Krabs drops the whole fridge overboard. Squidward and SpongeBob try to escape by hopping into a boat, but Mr. Krabs turns out to be inside and they are thrown out tied together. Mr. Krabs threatens to starve the two until his dollar is retrieved, and then hooks them to his rod as live bait. Soon enough, the dramatic music begins playing again, which when the two begin to freak out as a clam begins swimming toward the boat. Soon enough, the clam opens its mouth to reveal the dollar lying on its tongue. Mr. Krabs jumps onto the tongue, grabs the dollar and celebrates with it. However, the dramatic music returns as the clam shuts its mouth and goes back into the water. Thinking that Mr. Krabs is dead, the two mourn until he is seen at the surface of the water with the dollar. He hops onto the boat to reveal that he had given off much of his body to the clam.
Mr. Krabs: Wait a minute... This isn't me millionth dollar. This is an ordinary dollar that’s been crumpled up, torn slightly, soaked in the lagoon, and kissed with Coral Blue #2 Semi-Gloss Lipstick.
Squidward: (ripping off his beard) Thats it! I'm finished! We've been here for three days and haven't gotten a nibble! This is hopeless!
SpongeBob: Yeah, and I gotta get home and feed Gary. (Gary eating parts of SpongeBob's couch)
Squidward: We're gonna die out here just because a clam ate Mr. Krabs' stupid dollar! (pulling out a dollar from his wallet) Well if he wants his dollar back, I say we give it to him. You know what I mean huh huh?
SpongeBob: Oh I get ya (laughing)
Mr. Krabs: I trusted you and you gave me this! I can't believe me old crew would betray me like this! (he starts crying)
Squidward: No, ah ah no, we will not be sway by tears anymore. (Mr. Krabs stops crying)
Mr. Krabs: I see, then I guess I have no choice but to offer a reward.
Squidward: You're kidding
SpongeBob: Whoo! Is it another fishing trip?
Mr. Krabs: No, it's this sandwich. (He nails the sandwich to a pole)
Squidward: A sandwich? You expect me to break my back over a sandwich?
Mr. Krabs: Not a sandwich, the sandwich. (He dumps some sandwhiches overboard)
Squidward: Whatever, we got plenty more to... (Squidward and SpongeBob becomes shock when Mr. Krabs dump a refrigerator in the water)... eat.
Trivia/Goofs
This episode is a spoof of Steven Spielberg's Jaws. The references to the film include the title card, the title, the musical score, and three main characters on a boat chasing a larger than normal animal. Mr. Krabs fills the role of Quint, who was portrayed by Robert Shaw in the movie. The theme music which plays throughout the episode is similar to the famous Jaws theme, and is used as a theme for ESPN's Pardon the Interruption segment "Good Cop, Bad Cop".
Even though boats are used for driving in Bikini Bottom, the boat in this episode is used as a real-life boat would be.
Sandals (who paid Mr. Krabs his millionth dollar) never received the coral bits he paid for, because Mr. Krabs kicked him out.
In the boat Mr. Krabs, SpongeBob and Squidward have beards. Mr. Krabs has a white one, SpongeBob has yellow one and Squidward has a gray one.
The episode also features numerous references to Moby Dick, including Krabs' obsessive pursuit of the clam and nailing a sandwich to the mast of the ship.
In more recent airings, the dramatic music that plays when the big clam appears is different.
Mr. Krabs breaks the fourth wall by acknowledging the existence of the dramatic music while SpongeBob reels his dollar in (an ostinato in D minor, played in 4/4) . He then opens a double-door on the ship which reveals an orchestra playing the same music. Later, when he's using them as bait, SpongeBob and Squidward question why the Clam would appear then when it wouldn't before. The camera pans to Mr. Krabs dressed as a conductor in front of the orchestra, revealing that it's the ominous background music that draws the Clam's attention.
The boat is called the S.S. Cheapskate, referring to Mr. Krabs.
Squidward says he hates everything on the menu, but in "Just One Bite" he admits he loves Krabby Patties.
When Mr. Krabs is crying, there are puddles of tears. But when he's done crying, the puddles disappear.
When SpongeBob says "Yeah, and I have to go home and feed Gary.", he has a beard and hair. The next shot shows Gary eating the couch, but when it cuts back to the ship, SpongeBob's beard and hair disappear. However, Squidward takes his off and throws it on the ground before it shows Gary, showing that they were costumes.
In "Pre-Hibernation Week" SpongeBob says, "I have to feed Gary before he eats the sofa again." In this episode, Gary is shown eating the sofa.
This is the first episode Mr. Krabs's butt is seen (the second time was in "Once Bitten"), but not the first time he is seen naked. Mr. Krabs is seen naked in "The Algae's Always Greener", since Plankton usually does not wear clothes on a regular basis and that Mr. Krabs and Plankton had switched lives.
This episode has the same music as the episode "Frankendoodle."

When the curtains open in the Krusty Krab it covers up the part of the wall where Spongebob and Squidward work.
When Spongebob rips off Squidward's shirt, his skin there is pale white for some reason. A reason could be that because he is always seen wearing his shirt, he is unable to tan the rest of his body.
The orchestra is only seen when the boat is viewed from up close.
Even though he's been decapitated, somehow Mr. Krabs' arm is still attached to his head.

In a video on YouTube, Mr. Krabs says: "Congratulations, sir. You have just given me my 1,000,000th dollar." The fish that gave Mr. Krabs his 1,000,000th dollar asks what he wins. Then it cuts to Willy Wonka screaming at Charlie and Grandpa Joe: "You get nothing! You lose! Good day, sir(s)!"
