Getting to the Bottom of a 3D Bikini Bottom' is a behind-the-scenes featurette documenting the making of 'It's A SpongeBob Christmas!' TV special which aired on Nickelodeon and CBS in late 2012. The documentary short is included as a bonus feature on the 'It's A SpongeBob Christmas!' DVD/Blu-ray. This behind-the-scenes special was written and produced by Dan Vollmayer.

Documentary features include never before seen interviews with Claudia Spinelli (Executive in Charge of Production) and Paul Tibbitt (Executive Producer), Seamus Walsh (Director), Mark Caballero (Director) and Chris Finnegan (Animation Supervisor).
