Appearances

Bubble Bass is an obese bass who appears in a few of the Season 1 episodes of SpongeBob and makes a comeback in the Season 8 episode, "Plankton's Good Eye." He later makes numerous appearances in Season 9 and Season 10 onwards, and became a recurring background character by that point. He also makes cameo appearances in The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water. He is set to have a second major appearance in the Season 11 episode, "Squid Noir."

Description

He is an obese, olive green-skinned bass who wears a light orange tank top, orangish-brown pants, and black glasses. His lips and other parts of his body are dark green, while his stomach is a lighter green. He has a bit of speech impediment and breathes very deeply.

In "Fools in April," his skin is mauve, his tank top is white, and his pants are blue.

History

When SpongeBob finds out he forgot to put pickles in Bubble Bass' Krabby Patty in the episode "Pickles," he goes into a state of shock, and takes time off of work, claiming he has forgotten how to make Krabby Patties altogether. However, SpongeBob later achieves his confidence back and resumes his role as fry cook when Bubble Bass returns once again. Again, he orders a Krabby Patty from SpongeBob with pickles, which the latter delivers, only to hear Bubble Bass claim that there are no pickles yet again. However, SpongeBob realizes that Bubble Bass had been hiding the pickles underneath his tongue the entire time from both Krabby Patties to avoid paying to amusing make SpongeBob look bad.

At the mercy of the angry customers, Bubble Bass escapes before they can punish him by calling the Cops on him for his crime, He immediately runs away like the coward he is just before he is arrested. He also had a woman's car keys under his tongue.

Bubble Bass makes a minor appearance in "F.U.N.," where he "accidentally" sits on Plankton, and digs him deeper into the seat when SpongeBob tells him what he'd done with an evil smile. At the end of the episode, he confuses Plankton for a jelly bean and chases him about his hand when he starts running.

Bubble Bass also makes a cameo appearance in "Fools in April." He is shown when SpongeBob gets tricked by Squidward and runs into his butt and makes a large square indent. Though, instead of Bubble Bass being a green color, he was brown (gray).

Bubble Bass appears briefly in "Plankton's Good Eye," when he falls out of a window as a result of his house burning and crushes Plankton again. He is also there when SpongeBob gives Plankton the "Great Big Hug."

Bubble Bass makes an appearance in "Goodbye, Krabby Patty?" when Patrick signs his butt.

Bubble Bass reappears in "Whirly Brains," where he is seen walking across the street while eating ice cream. However, as he is walking, the kid's Whirly Brain flies into his butt while SpongeBob and Patrick's Whirly Brains fly above him.

Bubble Bass also makes an appearance in "Bulletin Board," supporting "P-Star 7," claiming he is a "true hero for our troubled times." He also writes a message on the bulletin board under the name of "HandsomeLad42," and mocks SpongeBob after he receives an insulting message from P-Star7. Later in the episode, Bubble Bass himself gets an insulting message from P-Star7 and gets into a fight with Squidward.

Bubble Bass can be seen participating in the crowd singing in the "Thank Gosh It's Monday" music video.

Bubble Bass also makes cameos in The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water "Larry's Gym." Trident Trouble, SpongeBob's Place.

SpongeBob SquarePants featuring Nicktoons: Globs of Doom

In the first level, SpongeBob and Beautiful Gorgeous travel to Bikini Bottom where they find Bubble Bass eating Krabby Patties right before he gets transformed into a giant minion of the Morphoids. Bubble Bass later heads to the Krusty Krab forcing SpongeBob and Beautiful Gorgeous to follow. They arrive at the Chum Bucket and rescue Gary. Jimmy and Plankton later arrive at the theater to only find Patrick and Squidward trapped. SpongeBob and Traloc later arrive at the Krusty Krab and fight a monstrous-sized Bubble Bass who demands more and more Krabby Patties, noting that SpongeBob has supposedly forgotten the pickles. Finally, he is defeated, returning Bikini Bottom normal once more.

Abilities

Strength: Bubble Bass has been shown to be very physically strong. He was able to push away an entire crowd of people with no effort.
Hiding things under his tongue: Bubbles hid the pickles under his tongue. This drove SpongeBob insane. He also hid a woman's car keys.

Trivia

Judging from how Bubble Bass and SpongeBob look and talk to each other in "Pickles" and when Bubble Bass is crushing Plankton in "F.U.N.," it is evident that SpongeBob and Bubble Bass shared something of a rivalry long ago.
Bubble Bass didn't appear for many years after the first season until he was seen in the Season 8 episode "Plankton's Good Eye." He was seen in a fire and running out of the Chum Bucket with Larry, Sandy, SpongeBob, and Nat.
For unknown reasons, in "Plankton's Good Eye," Bubble Bass' voice is higher pitched. He also seems kinder and friendlier in the new portrayal.
He hides numerous things under his tongue, such as pickles and a fish's car keys.
He is voiced by Ikuko Tani, a woman, in the Japanese dub.
