This episode was just violent for views and adiences. Because they made Spongebob and Patrick, a horrible neighbors they truly are.

Forgive me for saying this but I really don't like this one: I saw it when I was younger (five or six, mayber seven) and the ending really upset me (I can't recall if I had a crying fit over it, but I wouldn't be surprised), and now, ten years later, it still annoys me. All Squidward wanted to do was relax on his one day off a week, and he gets punished for it. That's bad enough, but then the ending is just, pardon my abbreviated French, WTF? Squidward installs a security system, and it turns his house into a rampaging robot monster? That on its own came straight out of left field and was just not funny. And in the end, it's not SpongeBob and Patrick who get punished for catalysing the event (okay, they do technically get punished, but that not only doesn't fase them, but also just makes Squidward's punishment 10x worse), nor is it the home security company who probably make millions off of these townwrecking scams, it's Squidward, who only wanted to relax on his one day off and if anything is the victim. Like I said, if you're not old enough to understand how stupid an ending this is, you're going to throw a temper tantrum over how mean the world is to Squidward.
I completely agree with RodimusPhil. This episode sparked the SpongeBob SquarePants writing cult of "let's bash Squidward up for no reason." They did the exact same thing in Cephalopod Lodge, except Good Neighbours was even more outrageous. All Squidward wanted to do was have a relaxing Sunday, and somehow at the end of his episode, his house is destroyed and he has to clean up the whole mess with the two people that caused the whole situation. The fact that this episode started the Squidward Torture episodes makes it even worse, because up until this episode the show was amazing. They still managed to pull some good episodes off like Dunces and Dragons, but this episode forever remains one of the worst episodes of all time.
Good Neighbors was one of the worst episodes in place for context. I believe the worst episode based on the plot would be "SpongeHenge". Good Neighbors had a plot, but it was weak. Good Neighbors was a substantial episode in terms of the plot it followed, but the context within the episode itself was so poorly used, that it makes me want to watch "House Fancy".
Now, that's sad.
Their hats had an eye, but it was "the all seeing eye", so there was no illuminati reference, and it wasn't widely popular in 2006.

I liked that joke but some people see it as evil.
Well, it was unintentional, so I like it.
