The Barg'N-Mart is one of the main supermarkets in Bikini Bottom. Its first appearance is in the episode "Help Wanted."

Their most famous product is Kelpo cereal, but they also have products "meeting all of your spatula needs," as stated by SpongeBob. This store is the common marketplace for all Bikini Bottomites, similar to a Walmart, Target, Kmart (or a Zellers in Canada) in the ocean. The store functions much like a usual bargain store.

Products shown include their wall of Kelpo, their paper towels; commonly used with the slogans in town or around (as mentioned in "SpongeBob Meets the Strangler"), deodorant, baby powder, and other items, such as soup, and night lights. This store is currently the only major store in Bikini Bottom, which leads to the questions of where the furniture and other home items are purchased. In Employee of the Month, it is shown to sell cooking oil, Jellyfish Jelly, Kelpo, TVs, and Food-in-a-can.

The Barg'N-Mart appears to be a huge chest with a skull and bones and there is a sign that appears to be designed like a scroll or map and Barg'N-Mart is written in black.

The interior of the Barg'N-Mart has orange walls, and a metal floor. When a customer first walks in, there is a cash register to the right. There is also an express lane as well. In the store, there are lots of shelves that stores products. In "Goodbye, Krabby Patty?," there is a freezer section within the store.

Role in series

Barg'N-Mart is a common store that all of Bikini Bottom uses. It appears in many episodes and seems to be the local supermarket for SpongeBob and sometimes other Bikini Bottomites.

List of destruction

  • "Dying for Pie:" Barg'N-Mart was most likely destroyed in the massive pie explosion like the rest of Bikini Bottom.
  • "The Krusty Plate:" After SpongeBob uses maximum power, it probably gets destroyed after the atomic bomb.
  • "Karate Star:" Patrick destroyed the Barg'N-Mart by his uncontrolled karate hand.
  • "Whelk Attack:" It was destroyed when the mama whelk was vacuuming in or swallowing everything and Bikini Bottom.
  • "The Krabby Patty That Ate Bikini Bottom:" Probably got destroyed when the Krabby Patty was eating everything.
  • "SpongeHenge:" Abandoned/destroyed from age/unknown causes. It does not show in this episode, but it is very likely that it did happen, as even the Krusty Krab is abandoned/destroyed.

  • The name is similar to the Kwik-E-Mart from The Simpsons.
  • Their slogan, "we have all your spatula needs," is reminiscent of the fictional spatula store Spatula City from the 1989 movie UHF.
